National YoungArts Foundation to Honor Debbie Allen, Joshua Bell and Adrian Grenier, 1/12

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) will honor director and choreographer Debbie Allen, violinist Joshua Bell and actor and alumnus Adrian Grenier at An Affair of the Arts Performance and Gala on Saturday, January 12, 2013, held in Downtown Miami at the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts and the Historic Alfred I. DuPont Building. The evening will bring together prominent artists, community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities to applaud the participants in the 2013 edition of YoungArts' signature program, YoungArts Week, which provides 150 of the nation's most outstanding young talents in the visual, literary and performing arts with life-changing experiences, including master classes, workshops, inter-disciplinary activities, performances and exhibitions.

Dr. Charlotte K. Frank and Marvin Leffler Receive Town Hall's 'Friend of the Arts' Award at Gala, 10/21

The Town Hall, New York City's landmark theatre and concert venue (123 West 43rd Street) honors two influential individuals: Dr. Charlotte K Frank, Senior Vice President of McGraw Hill and Chair of the Town Hall Arts and Education Committee, and Marvin Leffler, in recognition of 34 years as President of The Town Hall. They will receive The Town Hall's 'Friend of the Arts' Award tonight, October 21st, 2012.

National YoungArts Foundation to Create Headquarters at Landmark Bacardi Complex for Expanded Programs

(Bacardi USA) announced today that National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) , a non-profit organization, has acquired the iconic landmark Bacardi Tower and Museum building complex in Miami, Florida. In an act of civic and cultural philanthropy, Bacardi has conveyed the property to YoungArts at a significant reduction of its market value, ensuring that an important part of Miami's architecture, social and cultural fabric will be preserved and honored. New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Opens Display of Martha Swope's Photography Today, 9/26

Martha Swope, a former dancer with a Brownie camera who would go on to become a world renowned photographer of dance and theater in New York, is the subject of an exciting exhibition at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Martha Swope: In Rehearsal opens today, September 26, 2012, and focuses solely on Swope's rehearsal photography, where she captured rarely seen images from some of the most iconic stage and dance productions of the 20th Century. As a former dancer herself, the exhibition reveals Swope's unique understanding of movement and also illustrates the process of creating dance and theater. Martha Swope: In Rehearsal will be on display from today, September 26, 2012 to January 26, 2013 in the Vincent Astor Gallery at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at 40 Lincoln Center. Admission is free.

More than 250 children of National Dance Institute present a joy-filled performance of music and dance in the 2012 Event of the Year - Inner Visions: A Celebration of Stevie Wonder. Directed by NDI Master Teaching Artist and Alumna Bianca Johnson, Inner Visions is a reflection of Stevie Wonder's life and the key moments that inspired his groundbreaking music. The show features original choreography set to classics including Uptight; Sir Duke; Signed, Sealed, Delivered; Overjoyed; and For Once in My Life. Inner Visions will feature a special appearance by the 11-year-old piano protege Matthew Whitaker. Performances will be accompanied by a live orchestra and chorus under the direction of Jerome Korman. Featured performers include vocalists Chanda Rule and Gregory Stamper, and select singers of Youth Pride Chorus. Inner Visions is made possible with support from JPMorgan Chase & Co.

The stars were shining, including Chita Rivera, Marge Champion, Stephen Schwartz and more, in Flushing Meadows Corona Park Wednesday evening when Queens Theatre hosted its 2012 Gala Fundraiser, a star-studded celebration of the world premiere of HEAT WAVE: THE Jack Cole PROJECT, a new musical homage to legendary stage and screen choreographer Jack Cole. The event raised more than $150,000 for the theatre and its programs, including its educational and outreach programs that bring theatre and the arts to public school students. YoungArts Announces Master Teachers in Miami: Bill T. Jones, Malcom Gets & More

YoungArts, the core program of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts is proud to welcome several world-renowned artists to Miami January 9-14, 2012, to serve as Master Teachers for YoungArts Week. Every year YoungArts selects approximately 150 of the nation's most talented 17-18 year old artists to travel to Miami for YoungArts Week, an all-expense paid weeklong gathering that includes master classes, workshops, readings, and exhibitions and performances that are open to the public. This year's class of students will have the exclusive experience of participating in master classes with Robert Redford, Bill T. Jones, Jacques d'Amboise, Jon Secada, Malcolm Gets and Debi Mazar. They will also participate in a special arts advocacy session with Robert L. Lynch (Americans for the Arts).
