THE TALES OF HOFFMANN, SEMELE, and more are set for upcoming performances with the Canadian Opera Company.

The Canadian Opera Company has announced the following upcoming events.

Following chart-topping debuts in the U.K. and Germany, The Maltese Tenor, Joseph Calleja's third solo album for Decca Classics, will be released in the U.S. on Monday, October 24. To coincide with the release, Joseph Calleja will appear that same evening in concert at New York City's hip downtown club Le Poisson Rouge at 7:30pm.

To celebrate the event, Calleja will perform selections from the recording live on Monday evening at New York City's (Le) Poisson Rouge. Complete with special guest appearances, the concert will be webcast live on www.npr.org/music.

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces 45 new summer performances at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts and The Barns at Wolf Trap, featuring several of the biggest names in pop music, comedy, theater, and symphony, along with the meticulously chosen Wolf Trap Opera Company repertoire and cast.

Offenbach's reputation was firmly established by his hugely successful comic operas, but with The Tales of Hoffmann, the composer of the famous 'Can-Can' from Orpheus in the Underworld was determined to achieve recognition as a composer of serious opera as well. Based on several short stories by the writer E.T.A. Hoffmann, The Tales of Hoffmann would soon become a favorite vehicle for many of the world's leading opera singers who relished the opportunity to exploit its limitless dramatic opportunities. Canadian tenor David Pomeroy, who made his 2009 Metropolitan Opera debut in the title role of its new production of The Tales of Hoffmann, will make his FGO debut in the same role.

KPFK, Pacifica Radio for Southern California, presents the Arts in Review Holiday Special, airing Wednesday, December 22 (2 to 3pm), hosted by arts journalist Julio Martinez. Presented annually since 1993, this special broadcast features Dylan Thomas's A Child's Christmas in Wales, read by Al Alu, and the premiere of the radio drama, The Nutcracker's Journey, featuring the Arts in Review Repertory Players. Musical artists include Mara Purl, Marilyn Harris and AnnaMaria Padilla.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) presents nearly 1,000 public events throughout the year and offers free admission to many of its performances.

Es präsentieren sich die zwei Ensemblemitglieder Anita Hartig (Sopran) und Stephanie Houtzeel (Mezzosopran), die für den erkrankten Benjamin Bruns einspringt, mit einem persönlichen Programm an Arien, Duetten und Liedern von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Maurice Ravel, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Léo Delibes, Charles Gounod, Giacomo Puccini und Jacques Offenbach. Am Klavier werden sie begleitet von der musikalischen Studienleiterin Kathleen Kelly.
