Photo Flash: Rubicon Theatre's World Premiere Show HELLO! MY BABY Transfers to Lobero Theatre in May

For the first time in the company's history, Ventura's RUBICON THEATRE is transferring a production to the legendary LOBERO THEATRE in Santa Barbara. On the heels of a critically acclaimed, sold-out run at Rubicon's home in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District, the world premiere musical HELLO! MY BABY will play at the Lobero Theatre for three performances only next weekend - May 5 and 6. Described as a 'Tin-Pantastic New Tuner for all ages,' the show is conceived and written by Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner and Tony Nominee Cheri Steinkellner, who is also a longtime Santa Barbara resident. The Old Globe's 2012-13 Season will feature the World Premieres of two new musicals: Allegiance - A New American Musical by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The season also includes George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion in celebration of the classic play's 100th anniversary and the World Premiere of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Two recent Broadway hits will make their San Diego debuts at the Globe: David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People and Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. Rounding out the season are the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's Be a Good Little Widow and the Southern California Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size.

'Dominique Horwitz ist ein Schelm' schrieb ein Besucher in das ausliegende Gastebuch des Tipi am Kanzleramt und recht hat er. Horwitz beweist wieder einmal was fur ein hervorragender Schauspieler, Chansonnier und Entertainer er ist. Mit sehr viel verschmitzten Humor fallt seine Wahl auf die etwas unbekannteren Stucke des großen, franzosichen Sangers Jaques Brel. Nein, Moment: Brel ergeht es ahnlich wie Agatha Christies beruhmten Detektiv Hercule Poirot. Jeder halt ihn fur einen Franzosen, dabei kommen sowohl Poirot und Brel aus Belgien. Ähnlich bedingungslos wie Brel es schaffte in einem Chanson eine ganze Welt zu erschaffen und den Inhalt bedingungslos, ohne Rucksicht aiuf Verluste zu verinnerlichen gelingt es auch dem glanzend aufgelegten Horwitz Brels Stucken Seele, Witz und Tiefgang zu verleihen. Horwitz hat schon einige Erfahrung mit Brel. Dominique Horwitz' intensive Auseinandersetzung mit Jaques Brel beginnt 1984 im Munchner Residenztheater mit seiner ersten Brel-Produktion. 1997 hat dann „Dominique Horwitz singt Jacques Brel" in Hamburg Premiere. 1998 feiert er mit dieser Produktion einen fulminanten Erfolg in der Bar jeder Vernunft.
