Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Set in post-depression era Texas, The Girls in White is inspired by a true story about a group of incarcerated women who form a band and become an overnight sesantion through a prison-based radio program. In their newfound fame, they dream of being pardoned and set free. A story of hope and redemption, The Girls in White is 'Chicago' meets 'Orange is the New Black' with a country twang.

Musical theatre composer/ lyricist and pop songwriter Michael Mott will offer an intimate concert of his pop, R&B and soul music on Monday, September 21 at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. He will be joined by singers from 'American Idol' and 'The Voice."

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced the winners of the 2015 NYMF Awards for Excellence, which were awarded last night, July 27, 2015 at Urbo (11 Times Square). The full list of winners, plus photos from the ceremony, can be found below!

My favorite thing about attending NYMF is the fact that I truly never know what to expect from the works I see there. Walking into SINGLE WIDE, I was expecting a completely irreverent musical soiree along the lines of David Nehls and Betsy Kelso's THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL. Instead, I was treated to a nearly complete project with a heartwarming story that was as wholesome as it was entertaining.

Director/Choreographer Jeff Whiting (Bullets Over Broadway, The Scottsboro Boys) helms award winning new musical SINGLE WIDE, an uplifting and inspiring musical about one woman's determination to escape her tiny trailer park for a larger life, runs at The New York Musical Theatre Festival beginning today, July 17, where it will run through July 25, 2015.

Director/Choreographer Jeff Whiting (Bullets Over Broadway, The Scottsboro Boys) helms award winning new musical SINGLE WIDE, an uplifting and inspiring musical about one woman's determination to escape her tiny trailer park for a larger life, will run at The New York Musical Theatre Festival July 17 - July 25, 2015.  The production, with book and lyrics by George D. Nelson, and music and lyrics by Jordan Kamalu, will play five performances at the New York Musical Theater Festival.
