Originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, this timeless classic will be presented on the Mainstage from Nov. 6 to Dec. 31.

Young People's Theatre (YPT) has been overwhelmed by public response to the musical, Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, announcing today the run would be extended due to demand. Originally slated to run from November 16th to December 20th, the show will now run right through the holidays, to January 3rd. A signature production in YPT's history, this action-packed musical - the company's most-produced show and amongst its most beloved - will feature new music and lyrics by the talented young song-writing duo, Britta and Anika Johnson.

Young People's Theatre has announced that the musical James and the Giant Peach has just been held over for a second time due to overwhelming audience demand. YPT is extending their special ?Holiday schedule which will now include performances at 11am and 2pm on most days from December 26 to January 4. Young People's Theatre will present the Canadian Premiere of a rollicking new musical version of the beloved children's classic James and the Giant Peach. Created by Tony Award-nominated songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, this wonderfully touching show has just been extended due to popular demand and will be presented on the Mainstage beginning November 24, running to December 28.

I am a huge fan of the Toronto Fringe Festival! It's a great platform for new shows to be presented to audiences. Some get picked up for the Mirvish Season - or by other theatre companies, and one has even made it all the way to Broadway (The Drowsy Chaperone.)

On Monday Oct 29th members of the original Canadian cast of RENT gathered together with graduates from Sheridan College to perform a special benefit concern in support of Fife House. Produced by Michael Rubinoff, the event celebrated the 15th Anniversary of the Canadian production of the Tony Award Winning musical, and was a fantastic evening filled with songs and lots of love. On hand to celebrate were Chad Richardson, Cary Shields, Dominique Roy, Karen LeBlanc, Jenifer Aubry, Gavin Hope and Thom Allison. BWW is thrilled to bring its readers photos from the evening.

Theatre Sheridan today announced the extension of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical RENT for one week even before it opens! RENT was presented last December to sold out houses at Sheridan College's Oakville campus, and is being transferring to Toronto's Panasonic Theatre where it opens May 16 (preview May 15).
