Sonnet Repertory Theatre Presents THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, Beg. Tonight, 8/9

Sonnet Repertory Theatre celebrates a decade of producing classic theatre for the modern planet with a world-premiere adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Michael Raver, directed by Quin Gordon. The Picture of Dorian Gray will begin performances tonight, August 9, with an official opening slated for Friday, August 10, at The Studio Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

Wandering Bark Theatre Company and Jack Sharkey present THE SEAGULL by Anton Chekhov, in a new translation by Graham Schmidt, directed by Christopher Diercksen and produced by Joseph Mitchell Parks, Valerie Redd and Jack Sharkey. The show will run September 5-15, 2012, at The Secret Theatre.

Directed by Nate Eppler, Here Lies Jeremy Troy stars Rebekah Durham, Andy Kanies, Jennifer Richmond, Will Sevier and Lane Wright. Eppler, in addition to acting and directing, is a playwright and teaching artist based in Nashville. His plays include Keeping Up With the Joneses, The Shorty Hawkins Play, Modern Love and Long Way Down. Eppler is the recipient of both the Tennessee Arts Commission Professional Development Support Grant and the Individual Artist Fellowship. He is playwright-in-residence for Tennessee Repertory Theatre.

JULIE REIBER - the singer and actress currently playing Marion in Priscilla Queen of the Desert on Broadway at the Palace Theater - will release her debut solo album today, April 24. Love Travels is a mix of her original tunes, musical theatre favorites by such composers as Jason Robert Brown ('Still Hurting'), Adam Guettel ('Through The Mountain') and Stephen Schwartz (the special bonus track 'Defying Gravity') - each with a special twist - and reinventions of Reiber's favorite artists including Stevie Wonder ('Knocks Me Off My Feet'), Chaka Khan ('Stay'), John Mayer ('Back To You') and Joni Mitchell ('Little Green'). She will celebrate this new recording with a concert at Rockwood Music Hall the following night, Wednesday April 25. The $20 ticket price includes a signed CD. Actress and playwright Begonya Plaza, along with fellow cast members Shawn Elliott and Linda Larkin were joined by Donna Murphy, Willem Dafoe, and friends and family at the opening night of TERESA'S ECSTASY. After receiving a standing ovation at the Cherry Lane Theatre, they went to Soccarat Paella Bar on Mulberry Street for an after-party that included Spanish wines and a delicious tapas menu.
