Local CAPA Students Showcased in Cohen & Grigsby Pittsburgh Art Gallery This Spring

Cohen & Grigsby, a business law firm with headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA and an office in Naples, FL, is pleased to exhibit the work of students from the Pittsburgh's Magnet School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) in the C&G Gallery this spring. Titled 'Tomorrow/Today: The Students of CAPA,' the exhibit features the work of 15 CAPA students. The three-month art exhibit will begin with an invitation-only reception on April 10, 2013 where invited guests will have the opportunity to meet the students and view their works. The reception will take place at the C&G Gallery, located in the reception area of the firm's Pittsburgh headquarters (EQT Plaza, 625 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA).

The 29th National Cowboy Poetry Gathering -the nation's greatest celebration of the American West, its people, culture and traditions-will take place today, January 28 to February 2, 2013, in Elko, Nevada. Produced by the Western Folklife Center, the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering features performances of poetry and music from the cowboy and ranching occupation, but also presents exhibitions, films, workshops, dances and discussions-all centered on land-based culture in the American West, its traditional arts and the challenges it faces in the 21st century.

Jovanotti Announces US Tour

'Culminating a lifelong love affair with America,' Jovanotti (Lorenzo Cherubini) is now engaging professionally with the U.S. as never before. ATO Records is determined to introduce American audiences to him with today's release of Italia 1988-2012, a career retrospective including four new tracks. In September, the Tuscan artist, who has sold over five million albums in his native Italy, takes up residence in New York. In October, he will tour this country, performing in sizable venues nationwide. The 2011 Bonnaroo performance by the polyglot Tuscan artist Jovanotti (nee Lorenzo Cherubini) won over American live music fans, critics and industry alike. Among those taken by Jovanotti's artistry and charisma was the leadership of ATO Records, which will introduce American audiences to him with Italia 1988-2012, a career retrospective including four new tracks, on August 7. This is the artist's first physical album of studio recordings to be released in the U.S., and the first time much of the material has been released here in any format.

Marin Theatre Company has announced an extension of their revival of Woody Guthrie's American Song. The show now plays in Marin Theatre Company's Boyer Theatre through June 27, 2010. Conceived, adapted and directed by Peter Glazer, this musical has been pleasing audiences since its premiere in 1988. It won the Bay Area Critics Circle Award for best musical in its co-production at Berkeley Rep and San Jose Repertory Theatre in 1992.
