Peace of Mind is like a soundtrack to this crazy time in America. Each of the eight songs has a different theme — like immigration, voter suppression, mental health, etc. And Bhi didn't want to just release them into the album-cycle ether. So, he and the team at Critical Frequency have packaged these songs, one per episode, into what plays like a half-hour radio show w/ conversations, storytelling and cool sound design (comprised entirely of the stems for that song). At the end, Bhi shares the full song and the story behind it.
Bad times make great art, so this year's Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF) should be amazing! And so BFF announces today the film lineup for its 21st edition: THRESHOLD. Like an aircraft entering the threshold on runway “21,” BFF takes off on Friday, June 1st at returning venue: Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg. Over the course of the 10-day festival, BFF proudly presents film programs at Wythe Hotel, nearby returning venue Windmill Studios in Greenpoint, and five more screening venues throughout Brooklyn. Ian Gelder - Kevan Lannister in the epic TV drama series Game of Thrones - is to play Frankenstein director James Whale and Will Austin is gardener Clayton Boone, who becomes the object of Whale's obsession, in the world premiere of Gods and Monsters at Southwark Playhouse.
According to Variety, Footloose's Kenny Wormald, Jocelin Donahue and Fran Kranz have joined the upcoming indie film THE LIVING, written and directed by Jack Bryan. The trio will join previously announced Chris Mulkey and Joelle Carter.
