Homegrown Hollywood star James McAvoy will tread the Glasgow Film Festival red carpet at the UK premiere of his directorial debut, California Schemin' (8 March).

The festival runs from 25 February to 8 March in Glasgow.

An all new trailer for Original Theatre Company's The Haunting of Alice Bowles has been released.

Janie Dee has had to withdraw from the production of The Haunting of Alice Bowles for personal reasons, but the producers, Original Theatre Company, have announced that Tamzin Outhwaite will now be playing the titular character in this new supernatural thriller by Philip Franks, adapted for the first time from the M.R. James chilling short ghost story, The Experiment.

Presented for the first time since its world premiere in 1958 and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Sexual Offences Act of 1967, which decriminalised homosexuality in the UK, Quaint Honour by Roger Gellert runs at the Finborough Theatre, playing Sunday and Monday evening and Tuesday matinees from Sunday, 29 October 2017. 59 years after it first premiered, Roger Gellert's Quaint Honour is revived as part of the fiftieth anniversary of the Sexual Offences Act. In 50s Great Britain, homosexuality is still illegal, but this doesn't deter the boys at boarding school. Following a dare, Tully (Harley Viveash) sets off to seduce one of the younger pupils, Hamilton (Jack Archer). Little did he know his actions would kick off something bigger than headmaster Hallows' (Simon Butteriss) rage.

First images released of the cast for the London premiere of Tennesee Williams' 'CONFESSIONAL' at Southwark Playhouse, including Rob Ostlere, who was Arthur Digby for three years in 'Holby City'. Tramp's innovative, semi-immersive production reimagines Tennessee Williams' little known play in "Monk's Bar", a run-down British seaside bar on the Essex coast, frequented by life's flotsam and jetsam. The audience are seated in the pub with the locals while the action kicks off around them.

Share a drink with a group of shameless lowlifes and watch their lives implode... Tramp's innovative, semi-immersive production reimagines Tennessee Williams' little known play, CONFESSIONAL, in "Monk's Bar", a run-down British seaside bar on the Essex coast, frequented by life's flotsam and jetsam. The audience are seated in the pub with the locals while the action kicks off around them. Join the bar's regulars over the course of one furious and fun evening, as a pair of strangers enters their world - and all hell breaks loose. 

New York, NY – The Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) continues its 10th anniversary celebratory season with three concerts in April, reflecting BAC's expanded series of music programming for 2015. The weeklong celebration begins Monday, April 6 at 7:30pm, with one of BAC's signature events – a BAC Salon – in the Howard Gilman Performance Space, featuring the chamber music of Berio, Cage, and Mozart in an intimate salon setting. On Wednesday, April 8 at 7:30pm, composer and jazz pianist Stephen Prutsman will perform the entirety of his album Passengers for the first time ever, in another BAC Salon in the Howard Gilman Performance Space. The final performance of the week, on Saturday, April 11 at 8pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater, features the Latvian National Choir, hailing from BAC Artistic Director Mikhail Baryshnikov's birthplace of Riga and bringing to New York a program that includes music by Arvo Pärt, Grammy nominee Ugis Praulins, and the U.S. premieres of works by acclaimed Latvian composers Jekabs Janchevskis, Gundega Smite, and Raimonds Tiguls. The Latvian National Choir last appeared in New York as part of the 2010 White Light Festival at Lincoln Center, in performances The New York Times described as “ravishing.”

THE BEAUX' STRATAGEM, directed by Stratford Festival Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino opened to raucous laughter and thunderous applause Friday night at the Stratford Festival. With a cast like this, I would not expect anything less. This fun and thoughtful restoration comedy by George Farquhar, presents audiences with many players, harboring many talents... leading to many laughs. Needless to say, I suspect MANY tickets will be sold.
