Violinist And Conductor Joseph Swensen Joins Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra For MOZART VIOLIN CONCERTO NO.3

The Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) will welcome acclaimed violinist and conductor Joseph Swensen on February 18 and 19 in a dazzling program featuring masterworks by Schubert and Mozart. The concert titled "Schubert 'The Great'" has been updated to reflect a change in program; Maestro Swensen, who will conduct from the violin spotlight, will replace Maestro Rune Bergmann, who has withdrawn due to an illness in the family.

DRUMLINE LIVE Parades into the Capitol Center for the Arts 3/7

DRUMLine Live, the show-stopping attraction created by the musical team behind 20th Century Fox's hit movies "Drumline" and "Drumline: A New Beat," parades onto the Capitol Center for the Arts mainstage on Tuesday, March 7 at 7:30PM. This show is one of several William H. Giles Series performances during the CCA's 2016-17 season.

2017 NJSO Winter Festival to Launch with Pinchas Zukerman Performing Tchaikovsky

fCelebrated violinist and conductor Pinchas Zukerman opens the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's three-concert 2017 Winter Festival with a program of works by Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn, January 13-15 in Newark, Red Bank and New Brunswick. Zukerman-the festival's Artistic Director-both leads the Orchestra and solos in Tchaikovsky's Serenade Melancolique and "Melodie" from Souvenir d'un Lieu Cher. The program also features Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, "Italian."

The Dessoff Choirs Performs All-French Program 2/26

Hailed as "one of the great amateur choruses of our time (New York Today) for its "full-bodied sound and suppleness (The New York Times)," The Dessoff Choirs turns the church into a petit Paris with an all-French program that puts the spotlight on the brilliant French Impressionists of music: Marcel Dupre, Claude Debussy, Lili Boulanger, Reynaldo Hahn, Jean Langlais, and Francis Poulenc. Joined by accompanist Steven Ryan (celebrating his 20th anniversary season with Dessoff) and Dr. Raymond Nagem, Associate Organist at the Cathedral of St John the Divine, Dessoff presents a magnifique tribute to French composers and to the majeste of the organ.

Love is in the air when award-winning jazz vocalist Alexis Cole appears at the Capitol Center for the Arts' Spotlight Cafe on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 7:30PM. This Valentine's Day show is one of several free William H. Giles Concert Series performances during the CCA's 2016-17 season.

Alan Gilbert to Lead NY Phil in World Premiere of HK Gruber's Piano Concerto, Today

Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in the World Premiere of HK Gruber's Piano Concerto - a Philharmonic co-commission with the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw, and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic orchestras - with pianist Emanuel Ax as soloist; Weill's Little Threepenny Music for Wind Orchestra; and Schubert's Symphony No. 2. The performances will take place Today, January 5, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, January 6 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, January 7 at 8:00 p.m.

Pianist Katya Grineva Celebrates Holidays At Carnegie Hall, Today

Celebrating her 16th annual solo appearance at Carnegie Hall, classical pianist Katya Grineva presents an evening of holiday music and virtuoso romantic masterpieces for one night only, Today, December 27, at 8:00 p.m. The Russian native, whose dream it was to one day play at the iconic venue, is the first woman to perform as a soloist at Carnegie this many times. 

New York Philharmonic Presents BELOVED FRIEND - TCHAIKOVSKY AND HIS WORLD, 1/24-2/11

The New York Philharmonic will present Beloved Friend - Tchaikovsky and His World: A Philharmonic Festival, January 24-February 11, 2017, featuring Russian-born Semyon Bychkov conducting works by Tchaikovsky as well as composers he was influenced by and whom he influenced, with piano soloists Yefim Bronfman and Kirill Gerstein.

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by seven-time Grammy winner and piano superstar Emanuel Ax on December 3 at 8 p.m. and December 4 at 2 p.m. Both concerts will be lead by Music Director Eric Jacobsen and will be held at Bob Carr Theater, 401 W. Livingston Street, Orlando, Florida.

Nigel Kennedy Returns to QPAC with A New Take on Vivaldi's THE FOUR SEASONS

Internationally renowned classical, jazz, and rock violinist Nigel Kennedy, will perform Vivaldi: The New Four Seasons + Dedications, inQueensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC's) Concert Hall on Thursday 2 February 2017 as part of a national tour. Tickets to this one night only performance go on sale this Friday 11 November 2016.
