Irish Rep Celebrates 30th Anniversary With The Sean O'Casey Season

Irish Repertory Theatre is excited to announce The Sean O'Casey Season, a comprehensive retrospective of the work of renowned Irish playwright Sean O'Casey, to take place from January through May of Irish Rep's 30th Anniversary Season.

Matthew Broderick Joins Lineup for CELEBRITY AUTOBIOGRAPHY, Nov 26

Celebrity Autobiography, the award-winning hit comedy show in which celebrities act out other celebrities' jaw-dropping memoirs verbatim, will come to Broadway's Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street) three nights only this holiday season. Irish Rep Reading Series To Present Gary Duggan's SPOTLESS

Irish Repertory Theatre begins its 13th season of the Irish Rep Reading Series with a staged reading of Gary Duggan's play Spotless. Directed by Irish Rep Literary Manager Kara Manning, the reading will take place on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 3:00pm at Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) on the Francis J. Moisés Kaufman to Direct Berkeley Rep's PARADISE SQUARE: AN AMERICAN MUSICAL, A.J. Shively, Kennedy Caughell, and More Star

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

Irish Repertory Theatre announced casting for A Child's Christmas In Wales by Dylan Thomas (Under Milk Wood). Adapted & directed by Charlotte Moore (On A Clear Day You Can See Forever), A Child's Christmas In Wales begins performances on November 28, 2018 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage, with an opening night set for December 3, and will run through December 30, 2018.

BITTER GREENS Makes World Premiere At 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) presents the world premiere of BITTER GREENS, written by Clea DeCrane and directed by Kevin Kittle. Produced by Station 26 Productions, BITTER GREENS begins performances on Friday, December 7 for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 23. Press Opening is Friday, December 14 at 7:30 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 PM; and Sunday at 2:30 PM. Please note: there is an added performance on Saturday, December 8 at 2:30 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison). Single tickets are $25 ($20 for 59E59 Members). Irish Repertory Theatre announces full casting for the return of The Dead, 1904 - an immersive adaptation of James Joyce's classic story, "The Dead," adapted by the Pulitzer Prize winning Irish poet Paul Muldoon (Moy Sand and Gravel) and novelist Jean Hanff Korelitz (Admission, You Should Have Known).

Headlong Presents RICHARD III With Tom Mothersdale As Richard

John Haidar directs Tom Mothersdale as Shakespeare's most notorious and complex villain, Richard III. This inventive new staging is a co-production between Headlong, Alexandra Palace and Bristol Old Vic, with Royal & Derngate Northampton and Oxford Playhouse.

CUCKOO Explores Non-Binary Identity and Teenage Life in Ireland at Soho Theatre

This November, Catriona Ennis (Dublin by Lamplight, Corn Exchange; Test Dummy, Theatre Upstairs, Dublin; Wild Sky, Irish Arts Centre New York and Irish tour) will star as loud-mouthed Iona in the exciting world premiere of Cuckoo and joining her as Pingu, Iona's silent tuxedo-wearing, non-binary best friend, will be Elise Heaven (The Little Bookshop, UK tour; PASSPAWT, Brighton Fringe; She's a Good Boy, Camden Fringe Festival) who also identifies as non-binary. Also joining the company are Colin Campbell (Disco Pigs, Trafalgar Studios and Irish Repertory Theatre, New York; Scotties, Scottish tour; Dublin by Lamplight, Abbey Theatre) as Pockets, Sade Malone (4 O'Clock Club, CBBC; The Queen and I, Sky; Seasons in the Sun, East Riding Theatre) as Toller and in his professional stage debut Peter Newington will star as Trix. Directed by Debbie Hannan (Things of Dry Hours, Young Vic; The Session, Soho Theatre; Who Cares, Royal Court), Cuckoo is from the distinctive new comic voice of debut playwright Lisa Carroll. Exploring gender identity, Carroll also dissects the true cost of belonging and reflects on how hard it is to break away from the place you grew up.
