Palm Beach Dramaworks to Welcome Tony Walton for 'Dramalogue' Series

Tony Walton, who has designed sets and costumes for film, opera, ballet, and television but is perhaps best known for his extensive work in theatre, will appear live, onstage at Palm Beach Dramaworks on Tuesday, January 3, to discuss his distinguished career with J. Barry Lewis as part of the popular series Dramalogue - Talking Theatre! The program will be presented twice, at 2pm and 7pm, at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

Baryshnikov Arts Center Announces Spring 2017 Season

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Spring 2017 performance and residency series, which runs January 7 through June 17. Tickets for BAC Presents performances in theater, music, and dance can be purchased now at bacnyc.org and 866 811 4111. Throughout the season, BAC Residencies will provide critical support to eleven artists across disciplines to develop new work in BAC's studios.

Voices Carry: A Celebration of Irish Women Writing at Irish Arts Center 12/6

Irish Arts Center, which projects a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, is pleased to present Voices Carry: A Celebration of Women Writing, December 6. Organized by author and playwright Honor Molloy and directed by Kira Simring, the event features Ms. Molloy and actors Gina Costigan, Angel Desai and Orlagh Cassidy in dramatic readings of 20th Century works spanning a variety of forms, including memoir, novels, poetry, drama, and radio. The featured texts-by renowned contemporary authors Anne Enright andEdna O'Brien; playwright Gina Moxley; and late writers including Leland Bardwell, Maeve Brennan, Elizabeth Bowen, Lucy Grealy, Maura Laverty, and Claire McAllister-explore the humor, depth, and resilience of Irish and Irish American women.

Royal Family Productions Presents a Reading of Keenan Scott II's THOUGHTS OF A COLORED MAN

 Royal Family Productions (Chris Henry, Artistic Director) will present a stage reading of Keenan Scott II's Thoughts of a COLORED MAN on a day when the sun set too early,  directed by Chris Henry  as part of its developmental series.  The reading will take place on Saturday, December 3 at 2pm at the Royal Family Performing Arts Space (145 West 46th Street, 3rd Floor). Author Roger Rosenblatt to Read from THOMAS MURPHY Novel at Irish Arts Center

Roger Rosenblatt-the acclaimed, award-winning essayist, memoirist, and New York Times bestselling author of Making Toast, Kayak Morning, and Lapham Rising-comes to Irish Arts Center on November 30 to read from his latest novel, Thomas Murphy, a reflective, bittersweet tale of an aging poet ruminating on his colorful life. After Rosenblatt's reading, the celebrated novelist Alice McDermott will join him for a conversation about the book.

Irish Arts Center Adds Second Night of 'Christine Tobin Sings Leonard Cohen'

On December 8 & 9, Irish Arts Center will present Christine Tobin Sings Leonard Cohen. For this two-night event, multi-award winning Irish jazz and world music singer Christine Tobin, whom The Guardian has praised as having a "24 karat voice," will perform songs from her album A Thousand Kisses Deep (Trail Belle Records 2014), her salute to singer, songwriter, and poet Leonard Cohen.

THE PIGEON IN THE TAJ MAHAL Begins Tonight at Irish Rep

Irish Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of THE PIGEON IN THE Taj Mahal, by Laoisa Sexton. Directed by Alan Cox (Black Snow), THE PIGEON IN THE Taj Mahal begins performances tonight, November 16, 2016 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre and officially opens on November 27, running through December 31, 2016.

Irish Arts Center Presents Singer-Songwriter Brendan O'Shea 12/2

Revered singer-songwriter Brendan O'Shea returns to Irish Arts Center, December 2. At this performance, Brendan will showcase selections from his newest album, Mid-Atlantic Ghost, featuring a collection of songs written in and inspired by his home place connections, both here in the US and abroad. This event will serve as the official album launch. Originally from Killarney in the South-West of Ireland, Brendan O'Shea moved to the US in the late 90s and has become a staple within the East Village indie-folk scene.

Gripping Adaptation of John Fowles' THE COLLECTOR Opens Off-Broadway

59E59 Theaters hosts the NY premiere of THE COLLECTOR, adapted from John Fowles' novel by Mark Healy, directed by Lisa Milinazzo. Produced by Nine Theatricals and Roebuck Theatrical, THE COLLECTOR plays a limited engagement through Sunday, November 13. Press opening is tonight, November 1 at 7:30 PM.

Musical-Comedy Sister Duo to Bring VICKIE & NICKIE'S HOLIDAY SLEIGH RIDE to The Duplex

Pat Kinevane Returns to Odyssey Theatre with West Coast Premiere of UNDERNEATH

Sticks and stones didn't break her bones, but words and pointing crushed her. Olivier Award winners Pat Kinevane and Fishamble: The New Play Company return to Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, the company that introduced Los Angeles audiences to the Irish writer/performer's extraordinary Forgotten and Silent, with his third solo work about life lived on the fringes of society. Jim Culleton, artistic director of Dublin's Fishamble and director of both Forgotten and Silent, directs the West Coast premiere of Underneath for a limited run Oct. 14 - Oct. 30. The engagement will also include two performances of Silent, which garnered the 2016 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement following its run at London's Soho Theatre.
