George Mathew Conducts Ubuntu-Shruti Orchestra in New Year's Eve Concert for Peace

On December 31st at 7PM, Music for Life International presents the 2011 New Year's Eve Concert for Peace. Created by musical icon Leonard Bernstein in 1983, the New Year's Eve Concert for Peace at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine has become a major New York City cultural landmark over the past three decades.

NBC Unveils New Mid-Season Schedule

NBC today announced its new mid-season 2012 schedule which features the premieres of four new series in "Smash" (February 6), "The Firm" (two-hour premiere January 8, time slot premiere January 12), "Fashion Star" (March 13) and "Are You There, Chelsea?" (January 11). The new lineup also includes the return of "The Voice," "30 Rock," "The Celebrity Apprentice" and "Who Do You Think You Are?"

ABC Scores Big Year-to-Year Gains on Monday

Featuring animated holiday specials, You Deserve It and Castle, ABC scored substantial year-over-year gains on Monday, building on the same night last year by 1.4 million viewers and by 50% in Adults 18-49. With a mix of repeat and original programming, ABC beat out NBC's first-run lineup (The Sing Off Holiday Special/Rock Center with Brian Williams) on the evening by 67% with viewers and by 80% with young adults.

Chelsea Clinton to Debut as NBC News Special Correspondant in December

NBC News has announced that its newest correspondant, Chelsea Clinton will be making her debut as a Special Correspondent this month on NBC Nightly News and Rock Center with Brian Williams. Clinton's role with the shows and the network will be to highlight stories within the 'Making a Difference' franchise. According to the New York Times, her debut report will spotlight the work of a nonprofit organization in her home state of Arkansas.

NBC will celebrate the lighting of the world's most famous Christmas tree with a live broadcast from Rockefeller Center in New York City on Wednesday, November 30th from 8 to 9 p.m. ET. The Yale School of Music opens its 2011-12 YALE IN NEW YORK concert series with a rousing evening of 20th-century vocal music from Britain, featuring two masterpieces: Benjamin Britten's beloved Serenade for tenor, horn, and strings (written for Peter Pears, Britten's partner, and the immortal horn player Dennis Brain, who requested Britten write the work) and a rare performance of William Walton's satirical mini-opera The Bear.
