An exciting cast has been announced for Ian Grant's After the Ball. Jack Bennett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Palace Theatre; And a Nightingale Sang, New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme; The Elephant Man, Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield and National Tour), Mark Carlisle (The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Chichester Festival Theatre and Duchess Theatre; Once, Phoenix Theatre), Stuart Fox (The Woman in Black, Fortune Theatre; Sauce for the Goose, The Man Who Pays The Piper, Orange Tree Theatre), Elizabeth Healey (The School for Scheming, Orange Tree Theatre; One of Us, Casualty, BBC), Emily Tucker (Fortune's Fool, The Old Vic; Suddenly Last Summer, Fallen Angels, Theatre by the Lake, Keswick), and Julia Watson (A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur, The Print Room; Handbagged, Theatre by the Lake, Keswick; The Man Who Pays The Piper, Orange Tree Theatre) will bring to life this gripping ensemble piece about desire, personal responsibility and the devastating repercussions of human conflict.

Through the stories of the characters in After the Ball I try to express some of my core beliefs: we are what we do; what we do can never be undone; our acts have ripple (or explosive) effects long after the act itself; women and men are entirely equal; individual and state violence to other human beings is unforgivable.

Ian Grant's new play explores how our acts reverberate down the generations. Inspired by a true event in 1918 and an unresolved family memory, After the Ball is a gripping ensemble piece, spanning sixty years, about desire, personal responsibility and the devastating repercussions of human conflict.

New production photos have been released of the new West End cast of Thriller Live, which recently announced a new booking period to 30 September, 2018. On 15 February, 2018, Thriller Live - a spectacular concert-style show that celebrates Michael Jackson's enduring musical legacy and groundbreaking dance moves - will overtake Jersey Boys to become the 14th longest running musical in West End history. On 19 August, 2018 the show will celebrate its 4000th West End performance.

They're changing the cast at Thriller Live with eight new dancers joining the 15th Longest Running Musical in West End history - all making their West End stage debuts. The youngsters joining the cast this week are on 12-month contracts that will see them in the show when it starts its 10th anniversary West End celebrations at the Lyric Theatre in January 2018. Virginia Repertory Theatre opens the World Premiere of The End of War by David L. Robbins on March 10, 2017, on the Arenstein Stage at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre, 114 West Broad Street. The End of War will have two preview performances on March 8 and 9, 2017, and will run through March 26, 2017.

Boston Lyric Opera's Stanford Calderwood General & Artistic Director Esther Nelson announced today an eclectic 2017/18 Season designed to please die-hard opera fans as well as newcomers to the art form.  Each of the Company's productions will be presented on a different area stage, starting October 13-22, 2017 with a new production of Giacomo Puccini's Tosca featuring the American debut of award-winning rising global star Elena Stikhina in the title role. The World Premiere of The Nefarious, Immoral but Highly Profitable Enterprise of Mr. Burke & Mr. Hare (a.k.a. Burke & Hare) by composer Julian Grant and librettist Mark Campbell follows November 8-12, 2017.  From March 16-25, 2018, BLO presents Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht's pivotal early-20th century work The Threepenny Opera.  BLO closes its Season in May with Leonard Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti, paired with his Arias and Barcarolles, to mark the Lawrence, Mass.-born composer's centennial.

Champagne flowed and a massive cake was cut last night as one of the West End's longest running musicals celebrated reaching a major landmark.
