On Saturday, May 23 at 8pm - Upright Cabaret, a wildly popular theatrical showcase featuring an eclectic mix of artists from stage, screen and recording, will present BROADWAY'S NEW LEADING MEN in-concert poolside Memorial Day Weekend at the new Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs.

The multi-award-winning NoHo Arts Center Ensemble (NoHo ACE) in association with David Elzer are thrilled to announce that their critically-acclaimed all-new look at the timeless classic, Dracula, dramatized by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston, based on Bram Stoker?s novel , and directed by Ken Sawyer (The Woman in Black, Lovelace) is extending again and will now play through Sunday, May 17 at the NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd. (at Lankershim) in North Hollywood. This past weekend, Broadway and recording star Billy Porter brought his new hit one man show 'The Standard' to Upright Cabaret at Mark's Restaurant for two sold-out SRO engagements. Upright Cabaret producers Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel in association with Lenny Beer and Suzi Dietz proudly presented Porter to Los Angeles audiences, with those in attendance including Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and 'Dreamgirls' film director Bill Condon.

To create a touring production of a Broadway hit, the production team usually has to scale down large sets, trim the corners and sometimes cut down the cast. With the ?Spring Awakening? touring production, it was just the opposite: the show would have to be made bigger. Gone would be the cozy feel of The Eugene O?Neill Theater, replaced with larger two-and-three tiered touring houses with bigger stages, and as a result the set would have to be expanded, creating more of an imposing feel than the original classroom did. But, more than any logistical problems, the question became this: Would ?Spring Awakening? even be viable as a touring show?
