For Spring 2013 the Ustinov Studio presents an American Season, its anticipated fourth season of new commissions and UK premieres, running from Thursday 7th March - Saturday 15th June 2013. Previous seasons have been critically acclaimed, with In the Next Room winning Best New Play at the Theatre Awards UK 2012 and the adventurous policy of the Ustinov, for its serious and innovative undertaking of producing new plays by important writers, recognised by a nomination for the 2012 Empty Space…Peter Brook Award.

Ben Cross, Nigel Havers, Nicholas Farrell and Alice Krige, stars of the original 1981 film Chariots of Fire, made a surprise visit to the Gielgud Theatre last night, July 10, to meet with the actors currently performing in Edward Hall's five star stage production of the same name. The stage cast, led by James McArdle, Jack Lowden, Tam Williams, Mark Edel-Hunt and Savannah Stevenson were introduced to their film character counterparts and to an excited audience at the Gielgud Theatre. Hugh Hudson, Director of the original film and co-producer of the new stage adaptation joined actors from both film and stage at this unique curtain call.

Almost 17,000 stadium seats go on sale today (30 May 2012) for the West End transfer of Chariots of Fire. Following its sell-out run at Hampstead Theatre, Edward Hall's production will open at the Gielgud Theatre on 23 June 2012 where it is currently booking to 10 November 2012. The gritty, inspirational drama SUNLIGHT JR. will be unveiled to international buyers by Hyde Park International at this year's Marche du Film. Written and directed by the award-winning Laurie Collyer (SHERRYBABY) and starring Naomi Watts (J. EDGAR, KING KONG), Matt Dillon (CRASH, THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY) and Norman Reedus (THE BOONDOCK SAINTS, THE WALKING DEAD). The film is produced by Original Media's Charlie Corwin (HALF NELSON, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE), Freight Yard Films' Andrea Roa and Ariel Elia, who is producing on behalf of Empyrean Pictures. Joshua Skurla and Dan Klabin are executive producers for Empyrean, which fully financed the film, and are joined by Simon Fawcett (HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS & ALIENATE PEOPLE, IN THE LOOP) as executive producer.
