Issaquah, WA - Village Theatre announced that due to popular demand, there have been six additional performance dates added to the schedule for the production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast in Issaquah.

PS Classics will release a new 2-CD set, HOWARD SINGS ASHMAN, as part of their ongoing Songwriter Series, on November 11, 2008. The album features performances by the late American playwright and film music lyricist. The first CD has 18 tracks, and include several collaborations with Mencken from ALADDIN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, GOD BLESS YOU MR. ROSEWATER and THE LITTLE MERMAID. The other CD features 15 unreleased demo recordings from SMILE, a Broadway collaboration between Ashman and Marvin Hamlisch.

It has been confirmed that [title of show] star Heidi Blickenstaff will be replacing Sheri Rene Scott as 'Ursula' in the Disney musical THE LITTLE MERMAID on Broadway.

Sierra Boggess (Ariel), Sean Palmer (Prince Eric), Norm Lewis (King Triton) and Brian D'Addario (Flounder), stars of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, will lead a 3-song medley created especially for the Today Show Halloween broadcast on Friday, October 31st during the 8AM hour.

DISNEY's ALADDIN opens October 30th and runs through January 4th at The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, 10 Marriott Drive. Based on the smash hit 1992 Disney film Aladdin, DISNEY's ALADDIN is a magical journey for all ages, featuring an Academy Award-winning score. The A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts Program presents the hit musical Little Shop of Horrors in a one-night-only special concert presentation. Featuring book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, Little Shop of Horrors is directed by George Thompson and music directed by Robert Rutt.

Eloquence without the elegance is how I'd describe Michael Stuhlbarg's scruffy, hyperactive and somewhat nerdy take on the title role in director Oskar Eustis' amusing hodgepodge of a production of Hamlet. Though perfectly placid for the first several minutes of his performance, silently contemplating his father's death and his uncle's marriage to his newly widowed mother at a downstage eternal flame that perpetually flickers its symbolism throughout the evening, he's soon wildly wringing his hands with nervous excitement, flailing his arms about in range and stomping his feet to the floor like the kind of actor he'll later be warning his players not to be. In fact, it's not until the prince starts feigning madness that he begins resembling a grown-up. It's not an interpretation that will tug at your soul, but it'll damn well get your attention without taxing your brain.
