Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College welcomes legendary composer/performer and 2008 Theater Hall of Fame inductee Marvin Hamlisch for an elegant evening of unforgettable music on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 8pm, including selections from The Way We Were and A Chorus Line, along with tributes to Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, and Scott Joplin. He will be joined on stage by tenor J. Mark McVey.

Ford's Theatre Society Director Paul Tetreault announced the Society's 2009-2010 season, a lineup that includes 'Black Pearl Sings!,' a new production of 'A Christmas Carol,' Norman Corwin's 'The Rivalry,' originally read as part of the Living Lincoln series, and the musical 'Little Shop of Horrors.' In addition to the mainstage season, the Society will present political comedian Mark Russell from February 17 to 20, 2010.

Broadway favorite and [title of show] star Heidi Blickenstaff is 'Ursula' in the Disney musical THE LITTLE MERMAID on Broadway. The talented and 'very sweet' Blickenstaff assumed the 'very sassy and sinister' role on January 27, 2009.

A new casting notice on Disney's web site states: 'Disney on Broadway is casting a new star for our sparkling new musical, THE LITTLE MERMAID...'

Current GRAMMY Award nominees Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, and Katy Perry are the first performers announced for the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast. The music industry's premier event will take place live on Sunday, Feb. 8, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television Network from 8 - 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

West Virginia Public Theatre's Founder and Executive Director Ron Iannone has announced the lineup for the 2009 summer season, which runs June 23 through August 9, 2009. WVPT will be celebrating its 25th anniversary season and has, once again, lined up another summer filled with Broadway's best productions.
