On Sunday, May 4th at 5pm at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side, LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER: NYC, part of a 32-city series of readings nationwide in celebration of Mother's Day, will once again take center stage in the Big Apple. This third annual New York City production features prominent local writers and performers telling their own tales of motherhood in all of its complexity, diversity, and humor.

Chapter Two will run Friday, March 14, 2014 until Sunday, March 30, 2014. Friday and Saturday showings are at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. This show is recommended for ages 13 and up.

Tacoma Little Theatre will welcome Kent Phillips as one of our cast members for Chapter Two. Kent is a familiar face and voice to anyone from the Pacific Northwest. He's been the host of 'The Kent and Alan Morning Show' on STAR 101.5 for the past 26 years, and is regularly seen on KOMO-TV.

Today, May 12 at 5pm at Peter Norton Symphony Space on New York's Upper West Side, the Listen To Your Mother Reading Series (www.ListenToYourMotherShow.com) will give 'Mother's Day a Microphone' as the city and an inspirational group of women and men come together to celebrate motherhood and parenting in a meaningful new way. Included in the cast of the New York City show are former Editor in Chief of Redbook Magazine Stacy Morrison (now Editor in Chief of BlogHer.com), comedian Jaime Fernandez, New York City creative writing teacher Susan Buttenwieser, social justice attorney and LGBT activist Nivea Castro and author Tracy Beckerman (whose book Lost in Suburbia: A Momoir comes out in early April).

April 22, 2012 was the graduation for the Commercial Theater Institute's Extensive 16-week Seminar. The Commercial Theatre Institute (CTI) is committed to the development and training of emerging producers and every year a select group of professionals are admitted to this intensive program.

When I heard that the New Victory Theatre, one of the best family theatres in New York (and probably the world) was presenting a show from Circo Para Todos , a professional circus school for disadvantaged and displaced kids in Cali, Colombia, I knew I had to be there to see the show. Not only am I a huge fan of circus and acrobatics (did you see what a sucker I was for Bring it On?), Colombian kids have a special place in my heart because a few years ago, my husband and I adopted one of them.

Before Fifty Shades of Grey, there was Rona Jaffe's scandalous 1958 bestseller THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. Now this controversial novel, which was the basis for the hit 1959 movie starring Joan Crawford, comes to the stage courtesy of the new theater company 95 WordsPerMinute. It is adapted and directed by Julie Kramer, and developed with actor and writer Amy Wilson. Previews begin tonight, September 29, with opening set for October 4 at HERE.
