Pandora Productions to Present YANK!, Begin. 5/14

Taking a page from the Hollywood musical of the 1940's, YANK! is a gorgeous big band era musical drama that begins with our hero finding an old diary in a junk shop of one Private Stewart. Suddenly we are transported back in time to explore the tumultuous relationship between 'Stu' and his reluctant new 'friend' Mitch. The war is a backdrop for the war within as the two struggle to find themselves and accept that their love is possible and yet fraught with danger.

When Henry Clay Frick set out to furnish his new residence at 1 East 70th Street, his intention was to replicate the grand houses of the greatest European collectors, who surrounded their Old Master paintings with exquisite furniture and decorative objects. With the assistance of the art dealer Sir Joseph Duveen, Frick quickly assembled an impressive collection of decorative arts, including vases, potpourris, jugs, and basins made at Sèvres, the preeminent eighteenth-century French porcelain manufactory.

Folger Theatre launches its 2014/15 season in Rome with William Shakespeare's enduring political tragedy, Julius Caesar from October 28 - December 7, 2014. Robert Richmond (Richard III and Henry V at Folger) directs the epic portrait of the battle between ambition and honor, conspiracy and loyalty, leading an outstanding ensemble including Anthony Cochrane (Broadway's War Horse and Folger's Henry VIII) as the honorable Marcus Brutus, and Maurice Jones, making his Folger Theatre debut as Caesar's closest ally, Mark Antony.

Directed by Teller (of Penn & Teller) and Aaron Posner and recorded before a rapt audience in the Folger's intimate Elizabethan Theatre, this "supernatural horror thriller" showcases the inventive magic of Teller and provides new insight into Shakespeare's classic tragedy.
