Custom Made Theatre Company opens its 18th season in San Francisco with Chess, the legendary rock opera from Tim Rice ("Evita","Jesus Christ Superstar") and Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, members of the celebrated pop group, ABBA. Set towards the end of the cold war, Chess uses politics and sport as metaphor for a love triangle between an enfant-terrible American superstar (loosely modeled on Bobby Fisher), his Hungarian-born lover/second, and a Soviet player looking to start a new life.

Just in time for the holidays, 42nd Street Moon presents the return of everyone's favorite Yuletide sourpuss in the World Premiere of SCROOGE IN LOVE!, a fun, high-spirited follow-up to A Christmas Carol. Starring Broadway's Jason Graae (last seen at 42nd Street Moon in Little Me) in the title role, SCROOGE IN LOVE! follows Ebenezer Scrooge one year after his life changed for the better, although he still feels something is missing. Directed by Dyan McBride, SCROOGE IN LOVE! will run tonight, November 25, through December 13, 2015 (Press opening: Saturday, November 28) at the Eureka Theatre, 215 Jackson Street, San Francisco. San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon raised the roof -- and significant funds -- with the help of celebrity guest star Laura Benanti at SONG OF A SUMMER NIGHT, the theatre company's gala fundraising evening held June 1 at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. In 1975, filmmakers Albert and David Maysles brought their cameras into the crumbling, palatial estate of Edith Bouvier Beale (the aunt of Jackie Kennedy) and her daughter, Little Edie. There they found two women ostracized from their community, hanging on to reality by a thread, and surrounded by dozens of cats and raccoons. Grey Gardens, the Musical examines both the back-story of this fascinating family and the fate they couldn't possibly have imagined. It was the first musical on Broadway ever to be adapted from a documentary.
