Carollo and Daniel Thomas, Co-Executive Directors), currently celebrating its 26th Anniversary in continuous operation, has announced that the Company's fun-filled fundraising cabaret concert, BROADWAY FLIPPED, will return in an all-new edition on Sunday, May 12 and Monday, May 13 (both at 7:30 p.m.), at the Gateway Theatre (215 Jackson St, San Francisco, CA 94111).
This April, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley invites guests to crack open The Legendary Vault, a secret place where magical treasures are stored and thrilling moments of theatre live on, at its annual spring party. Established in Palo Alto in 1970, TheatreWorks has grown over the past 49 years into one of the largest theatre companies in the Bay Area, and one of the nation's leading producers of new works. At this enchanted event, guests will sample delectable food and drink, shop for rare items and experiences, bid on once-in-a-lifetime adventures, and enjoy roof-raising musical performances. Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, announced today that the Demon Barber of Fleet Street will terrorize the streets of Foster City with Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's bloody-fun musical thriller, Sweeney Todd. Hailed as 'a staggering theater spectacle and more fun than a graveyard on the night of the annual skeleton's ball," (New York Daily News), Sweeney Todd will perform at Hillbarn Theatre (1285 East Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City) January 24-February 10, 2019. The performance schedule is as follows: Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.; there will be no matinee Saturday, January 26. In 1975, filmmakers Albert and David Maysles brought their cameras into the crumbling, palatial estate of Edith Bouvier Beale (the aunt of Jackie Kennedy) and her daughter, Little Edie. There they found two women ostracized from their community, hanging on to reality by a thread, and surrounded by dozens of cats and raccoons. Grey Gardens, the Musical examines both the back-story of this fascinating family and the fate they couldn't possibly have imagined. It was the first musical on Broadway ever to be adapted from a documentary.
