Today we are recounting the highpoints of GLEE's tribute to two iconic pop songwriters via the emotional 'Jagged Little Tapestry'.

The final season of GLEE premiered last night on FOX, and after time shifts, day shifts and a shortened season, the premiere struggled. According to EW, GLEE premiered to only 2.3 million viewers, and a .7 rating for adults, down a whopping 65% from last season. 'It also stood as the lowest-rated regular episode for a series on a major broadcast network last night; obviously, it's easily Glee's weakest premiere ever.'

Today we are spotlighting the most exciting events showcased in the epic 2-hour premiere episode of the final season of GLEE.

Last week, the island got flipped, turned upside down (okay, my second Fresh Prince reference in a week? 90's kids really do have a tough time letting go) as Hunahpu and Coyopa were mixed up to create two new tribes, thereby eliminating any hope I could have possibly had at keeping these contestants straight. It wasn't quite a merge, which is really the one checkpoint that every SURVIVOR junkie oh, so eagerly awaits, but it was certainly something--a necessary something, because Hunahpu's prior winning streak was getting lame, let's be honest. Now, the 'blood vs water' theme can really come into play, maybe even more than it would in an actual merge. On Hunahpu, fate in the form of an blue buff declared that Josh and Reed be the only new pair of loved ones on the new tribe. It wasn't a problem for them last week because Hunahpu won the immunity comp--oh my gosh, it's really starting to sound like a broken record; even with a new tribe, Coyopa can't win--but if they go to tribal this week, you never know. They could definitely be targets, which makes me sad, because I don't want either of them to go. Especially now that they've just been reunited; what a tragic Nicholas Sparksian love story that would be.

Last night, we kissed FOX's musical dramedy series GLEE goodbye until next year with the final episode of the tumultuous fifth season and today we celebrate 5 major reasons why it was worthy of our love.

Rivera will not be a part of Glee's fifth season finale, and her future on the show has not yet been decided. Sources also maintain that the situation has 'nothing to do with Lea Michele.'

On last night's 100th episode of GLEE, current and past members of New Directions reunite for one final assignment - to reinvent their favorite performances.

The Beatles once sang, 'You say goodbye / I say hello,' and so it goes with the gang on FOX's hit musical dramedy GLEE - new beginnings; new endings; and, well, New Directions, too. GLEE's '100' episode reunited the original crew - minus, of course, the tragically deceased Cory Monteith, who played headlining football hero Finn and who was paid elegant tribute with grace and class both last week and this week in his absence - with the addition of the new gleeks added in the ensuing seasons. While many of the new stars never managed to capture the lighting in a bottle that the originals commanded, it is undeniable that they each provided their own special spice in the GLEE stew and a handful broke out to considerable prominence on Broadway and beyond, particularly in the case of Darren Criss aka Blaine. Nonetheless, what made us all fall in love with GLEE in the first place, lo, more than five seasons ago, was that original recipe - and it's still as savory, spicy, sweet and mouth-watering as ever, as last night's spectacular celebratory entry showcased in spades; and hearts, too. But, yet, we are forced to ask: is this the end or the beginning?
