BWW Reviews: LEGALLY BLONDE at The 5th Avenue Theatre

The 5th Avenue Theatre has brought Heather Hach, Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin's musical adaptation of the Reese Witherspoon movie, "Legally Blonde" to their stages. And while this is not the best production of the show I've seen, it certainly gets snaps for bringing the fun.

Tony Winner Michael Rupert Returns to LEGALLY BLONDE on Tour, 2/10; Land Departs

Tony Award-winning actor Michael Rupert, who originated the role of Professor Callahan on Broadway, will be reprising the role on the LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL tour. Ken Land, who has played the morally dubious lawyer since the tour launched in September 2008, has joined the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises. Rupert's first performance in Denver will be Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

Last night, Wednesday 13 January 2010, Legally Blonde The Musical opened at the Savoy Theatre in London. Sheridan Smith, Duncan James, Jill Halfpenny, Peter Davison, Aoife Mulholland, Susan McFadden and Alex Gaumond lead the cast in Legally Blonde The Musical which is currently booking until 23 May 2010. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning Jerry Mitchell, Legally Blonde The Musical has music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, book by Heather Hach, set design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Paul Miller, sound design by Acme Sound Partners and orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke.

Sheridan Smith Readies for LEGALLY BLONDE Success

Sheridan Smith may be best known to TV audiences in the role of Janet Keogh in the BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, but it's her most recent outing - as stage star of the musical Legally Blonde - that is causing a stir in the West End. So much in fact that producers of the show have hired six extra security guards, built and extra stage door and put up rope barriers, reports the Times Online.

LEGALLY BLONDE Breaks Box Office Records in U.K.

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Legally Blonde is poised to be this season's monster hit in the West End, 'reporting £2million advance ticket sales and a 'Beatlemania'-like atmosphere' at the Savoy Theatre, where the production is currently in previews.

West End's LEGALLY BLONDE Institutes First Ever West End Ticket Lottery

On the heels of the news that Legally Blonde: The Musical is testing out a new reviewing policy in the U.K. whereby reviewers come a few days prior to opening night to better prep their comments, the producers have now revealed that they are instituting the West End's first ever lottery.
