The cast is set for August Wilson's a?oeJitney,a?? which will be presented by Center Theatre Group at the Mark Taper Forum November 22 through December 29, 2019, with the opening set for November 24. Originally presented by Manhattan Theatre Club, a?oeJitneya?? is directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson.

Toni Stone was the first female to play professional baseball in a major American baseball league and she happened to be African American. Toni played for teams around the country including the fabled Negro League Baseball teams like the Kansas City Monarchs and the unlikely monikered Indianapolis Clowns. She is the subject of a new off-Broadway play by Lydia Diamond opening for previews beginning May 23 at Roundabout's Laura Pels Theatre just off Times Square.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that April Matthis will lead the world-premiere of TONI STONE replacing formerly announced star Uzo Aduba who has departed the production for scheduling reasons.
