Edward Watts (Scandalous on Broadway; Superman in It's a Bird..Plane..It's Superman at Encores!), has signed on to join the cast of The Fantasticks, for two weeks only, right before its 56th anniversary on May 3, producers Al Parinello and Catherine Russell have announced. Mr. Watts will begin performances on Monday, April 28th and continue on in the role until Monday, May 12.

Due to popular demand, The York Theatre Company has announced a one-week extension of the world premiere production of the new musical revue, Inventing Mary Martin, that will now play through Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue) where performances began earlier this week on April 15. Opening Night is Sunday evening, April 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
Flat Rock Playhouse presents the world's longest running musical in the history of musicals, The Fantasticks, from today, April 17 - May 11 at The Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown. Part of its 'Season of Laughter and Love' presented by The Cliffs, the Playhouse is pleased to offer this installment of love, with music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones, loosely based on the play 'The Romancers' by Edmond Rostand.
The stage directions for the musical don't say that it should be performed at Music Theatre of Connecticut's 45-seat theater in Westport, but maybe they should. The intimate space and wonderful circus-tent-themed backdrop by scenic designer Carl Tallent are the perfect setting for the one-piano musical.

As part of Autism Awareness Month, Cassandra Kubinski will launch her newest video 'Not So Different,' with a family friendly concert at St. John's Lutheran Church (81 Christopher St, NYC) on Sunday, April 6 at 6PM. The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado for the Orchestra's 12th- annual summer residency there, performing six concerts July 18-25, 2014. Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct three programs, July 18-20, featuring works by composers for whom he has advocated during his tenure, ranging from Nielsen to The Marie-Jose?e Kravis Composer-in- Residence Christopher Rouse. The other Philharmonic concerts will be conducted by Bramwell Tovey (July 23 and 25) and Ted Sperling (July 24), and will feature works by Copland, Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Loesser, among others.
