Composer, orchestrator, violinist, and award-winning musical artist Andrew Joslyn will join four-time GRAMMY®-winning artist Yolanda Adams as Co-Chair of the Academy's National Advocacy Committee. Additionally, Chair of the Academy's Board of Trustees Tammy Hurt and GRAMMY-nominated artist, songwriter and producer Rico Love will join the Committee.

The GRAMMYs is the first major music awards show production to publicly commit to using an inclusion rider, exemplifying the Academy's leadership and ingenuity in infusing the highest standards of inclusion, belonging and representation. Read more about the new initiative now!

The Recording Academy will add the Inclusion Rider as an addendum to a contract between itself and the production company for the GRAMMY Awards.

A panel of the same name featured Founder of Black Music History Library Jenzia Burgos; two-time GRAMMY Award winner Patti LaBelle; NPR Reporter and Editor Sidney Madden; GRAMMY Award-winning, GRAMMY Legend Awards® and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Smokey Robinson; and GRAMMY Award-winning artist Raphael Saadiq.

With the aim of better serving Recording Academy members and the music industry at-large, the team will work directly under Mason, whose title will shift to CEO.

The pandemic caused millions of weddings to be canceled, leaving wedding singers across the country out of work. Match and Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort have teamed up to create a new song that encourages singles to “Get Back to Love” featuring 12 real life wedding singers so the entertainers can “get back to work.” 

The latest amendments are in addition to the previously announced changes in April, which included the discontinuation of nomination review committees, the reduction in the number of categories voters may vote and the addition of the Best Global Music Performance and Best Música Urbana Album categories.

Currently, a third of the Recording Academy's voting membership identify songwriting or composing as part of their craft and these members will be automatically included in the new Wing.

The study's primary goals are to further establish a baseline analysis on women's representation working in the American music industry, learn more about the available talent pool of women in music, and set priorities around music creators and aspects of mentorship.

Select students will receive scholarships from Amazon Music, the opportunity to meet and network with members of the music industry, including Amazon Music executives and the Black Music Collective, and will accumulate a network of mentors who will help them realize their dreams and bring them to life.
