Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer), by arrangement with Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder and Executive Producer, Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director, Elliot Fox, Managing Director), will present Horton Foote's critically acclaimed new play, DIVIDING THE ESTATE, directed by Michael Wilson this fall on Broadway at The Booth Theatre (222 West 45 Street). The production is scheduled to begin performances Thursday, October 23 and open on Thursday, November 20 for a limited engagement.

TheatreFIRST announces its 15th Anniversary Season running from January 2009 to June 2009, comprised of a staged reading series and revival of a Pinter masterpiece. TheatreFIRST continues its active pursuit of a permanent Downtown Oakland location, a space that will serve as home for TheatreFIRST and for other Oakland-based arts organizations. Each day we grow closer to this goal. TheatreFIRST looks forward producing to a full season of 3 shows beginning Fall 2009 to Summer 2010.
Seattle Rep Cancels Broadway Bound 'Waiting for Godot' With Irwin

Seattle Repertory Theatre has cancelled their production of the Broadway bound Waiting for Godot due to the loss of a financial backer. Actor Bill Irwin was set to star in production, scheduled to open on January 15th and run through February 14th. The theater has replaced the production with Athol Fugard's Road to Mecca, directed by Leigh Silverman.

Great writers and great works of literature are the thematic thread running through the 2008-09 season of Lincoln Center's Great Performers 'New Visions' series, this year subtitled, 'The Literary Muse.' A work by celebrated English novelist Virginia Woolf is the inspiration for the third presentation of the series. SoHo Rep's Artistic Director Sarah Benson has announced that Sarah Kane's bleak and controversial drama 'Blasted,' which according to The New York Times drew outrage from audiences and critics when it had its premiere in 1995 at the Royal Court Theater Upstairs in London, will make its American debut as the first show in that theater's 2008-9 season. 'Blasted' stars Marin Ireland, Reed Birney and Louis Cancelmi. Previews began October 2nd prior to an official press opening of October 9th at Soho Rep, and runs through October 26. Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson directs.

Keith Allen will make his West End stage debut starring as 'Long John Silver' in Ken Ludwig's new stage adaptation of 'TREASURE ISLAND' by Robert Louis Stevenson at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The play will open on Monday 17 November, following previews from 7 November.
