TheatreFIRST announces its 15th Anniversary Season running from January 2009 - June 2009, comprised of a staged reading series and revival of a Pinter masterpiece.

Soho Rep - the nine-time OBIE Award-winning, Off-Broadway theatre company - which sold out its initial run and its first extension, announces a second extension of its critically acclaimed production of Sarah Kane's landmark play BLASTED which will now play an unprecedented additional six weeks - through December 21st, according to Soho Rep's Artistic Director Sarah Benson.

The 20th Anniversary revival of DAVID MAMET's Speed-The-Plow is proud to announce it will now begin previews at the ETHEL BARRYMORE THEATRE (located at 243 West 47th St.) on Friday, October 3, 2008 with a new official opening set for Thursday, October 23rd, 2008 at 7pm.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer), by arrangement with Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder and Executive Producer, Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director, Elliot Fox, Managing Director), will present Horton Foote's critically acclaimed new play, DIVIDING THE ESTATE, directed by Michael Wilson this fall on Broadway at The Booth Theatre (222 West 45 Street). The production is scheduled to begin performances Thursday, October 23 and open on Thursday, November 20 for a limited engagement.

Kicking off the new season in the Village Players Blackbox is Betrayal, an intimate three person look at relationships by Harold Pinter, the 2005 winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Seattle Repertory Theatre has cancelled their production of the Broadway bound Waiting for Godot due to the loss of a financial backer. Actor Bill Irwin was set to star in production, scheduled to open on January 15th and run through February 14th. The theater has replaced the production with Athol Fugard's Road to Mecca, directed by Leigh Silverman.

The 2009 season at the Almeida Theatre will include five premieres, two major revivals and a Shakespeare.

Great writers and great works of literature are the thematic thread running through the 2008-09 season of Lincoln Center's Great Performers 'New Visions' series, this year subtitled, 'The Literary Muse.' A work by celebrated English novelist Virginia Woolf is the inspiration for the third presentation of the series. Opening on November 12, The National Theatre of Great Britain's award-winning, multi-media production of Waves will have its U.S. Premiere at The Duke on 42nd StreetSM, a New 42nd Street project.

SoHo Rep's Artistic Director Sarah Benson has announced that Sarah Kane's bleak and controversial drama 'Blasted,' which according to The New York Times drew outrage from audiences and critics when it had its premiere in 1995 at the Royal Court Theater Upstairs in London, will make its American debut as the first show in that theater's 2008-9 season. 'Blasted' stars Marin Ireland, Reed Birney and Louis Cancelmi. Previews began October 2nd prior to an official press opening of October 9th at Soho Rep, and runs through October 26. Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson directs.

For the first time ever, VS. Theatre Company & Range View Productions have joined together to bring Los Angeles a very funny new play by one of Chicago's most compelling writers, the West Coast Premiere of EAGLE HILLS, EAGLE RIDGE, EAGLE LANDING, written by Brett Neveu (American Dead, Eric LaRue) and directed by Ron Klier (On An Average Day) . Keith Allen will make his West End stage debut starring as 'Long John Silver' in Ken Ludwig's new stage adaptation of 'TREASURE ISLAND' by Robert Louis Stevenson at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The play will open on Monday 17 November, following previews from 7 November. Rupert Goold will direct Michael Gambon, David Bradley, David Walliams and Nick Dunning in Harold Pinter's No Man's Land, opening at the Duke of York's Theatre on 27 September 2008, with press night on 7 October 2008.

South Coast Repertory today announced the cast and creative team for The Heiress, the psychological drama of love, innocence and betrayal by Ruth Goetz and Augustus Goetz.

A multi-ethnic cast highlights stinging themes of class and poverty when Whitefire artistic director Bryan Rasmussen directs Blood Brothers, the Olivier Award-winning, Tony-nominated musical drama by Willy Russell (Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine). The tragic musical tale opens at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks on October 18 for a six-week run through November 23.
