Keith Allen will make his West End stage debut starring as ‘Long John Silver’ in Ken Ludwig’s new stage adaptation of “TREASURE ISLAND” by Robert Louis Stevenson at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The play will open on Monday 17 November, following previews from 7 November. Also in the cast are Michael Legge as ‘Jim Hawkins’, Tony Bell as ‘Bones/Captain Smollett’, Paul Brennen as ‘Ben Gunn/Black Dog’, John Lightbody as ‘Blind Pew/Trelawney’, Dermot Kerrigan as ‘Flint/Dr Livesy’, James Atherton, Mark Bagnall, Matt Costain, Estella Daniels, Branwell Donaghey, Howard Gossington, James Lailey, Mark Theodore and Sharlene Whyte.
“TREASURE ISLAND” will be directed by Sean Holmes (“The Entertainer” and work with the Royal Shakespeare Company), with design by Lizzie Clachan (a founder of Shunt known for work with the Royal National Theatre), lighting by Paul Anderson (Complicite), music by Tom Haines & Ross Hughes and sound by Emma Laxton. The show will feature a live band on stage. Amongst his numerous television credits, Keith Allen plays ‘The Sheriff of Nottingham’ in the new BBC series “Robin Hood”. His many films include “24-Hour Party People”, “Twin Town”, “Trainspotting”, “Shallow Grave”, “Scandal” and “Supergrass”. His London theatre work includes Harold Pinter’s “The Celebration” and “The Room” at The Almeida Theatre and “The Homecoming” at the Royal National Theatre.Videos
