Wayside Theatre Artistic Director, Warner Crocker, announced the cast and schedule for Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming, the sequel to one of last season's most popular productions. Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming was written by Connie Ray, conceived by Alan Bailey, and has musical arrangements by Mike Craver.

To continue to celebrate the release of her sophomore album Cigarettes & Truckstops, acclaimed Nashville-based artist Lindi Ortegais set to embark on a nationwide solo tour in 2013. Acclaimed Nashville-based singer-songwriter Holly Williams is ready to take to The Highway in support of her self-released third studio album due February 5 on her own imprint, Georgiana Records. Kicking off the first leg of her U.S. tour at New York's Joe's Pub on January 24, Williams will also play Hotel Café in Los Angeles on February 6 and the Belcourt Theatre in Nashville on February 12.

La Jolla Playhouse announces a new play development initiative, the DNA New Work Series, entailing a six-week period of workshop productions and public readings of new plays and musicals, taking place January 24 through March 3, 2013. The focus of the DNA New Work Series is to allow playwrights and directors the opportunity to develop a script by providing rehearsal time, space and resources, culminating in a workshop production or public reading.

The acclaimed Swedish singer-songwriter Elin Ruth released her Bang EP this week (11/27). The four song EP precedes her full length, eponymous US debut which comes out on January 29, 2013. Hosted by Tish and Snooky of Manic Panic, this benefit extravaganza will also showcase the talents of Blue Coupe, Joe Hurley, Eddie Brill (current warm-up comedian for The David Letterman Show), Michael Musto, Murray Weinstock, and other surprise appearances.

Tonight, Tony Bennett will join his good pal Alec Baldwin on the Emmy winning, fan-favorite 30 Rock. Details are all very top secret -- so you'll have to tune in to find out how Tony will be incorporated into this week's installment. Tony has previously proclaimed his love for the sitcom and is thrilled to be involved! The episode is titled 'Mazel Tov, Dummies!' and will air tonight at 8pm EST on NBC.

The inaugural season of the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse's Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival was a success, according to Festival organizers. The Festival, held in Auburn, N.Y., included nine musicals and played a significant role in shaping 20 new musicals during the 2012 season. Downtown Auburn also saw a boost in activity as patrons visited restaurants and spent time in the city.

Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, in collaboration with GFOUR Productions (producers of Menopause the Musical and winners of more than 30 Tony Awards), has announced what promises to be Rochester's next hit musical: MOTHERHOOD THE MUSICAL, running now through November 18.
