On the upcoming Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day a moving show will be brought by Prime Minister's Prize for Composers winner, composer Sara Shoham, and present a new and creative reading of 'The Little Prince'. The show will begin with singing by the Li-Ron choir, conducted by Ronit Shapira. Later on the composer will present the performance of 'The Holocaust and the Little Prince?' which deals with the connection between the famous story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and the events of World War II and the Holocaust.
The Israeli Opera presents 'Lucia di Lammermoor' by the Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti, conducted by Daniele Callegari, directed by Javier Ulacia according to the direction of the Israeli Opera's 2012 production by Emilio Sagi and performed by international and Israeli soloists, The Opera Orchestra - The Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion and The Israeli Opera Chorus conducted by Ethan Schmeisser who will also alternate as the opera's conductor.
For an Opera that is described as dark, intense and ruthless and its plot is filled with murder, betrayal, insanity and death, at its end it might become even more tragic, as expected, but in Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor the journey through all that has many beautiful and captivating moments, especially in this revival of the Israeli Opera's 2012 production, originally directed by Emilio Sagi as the revival director is Javier Ulacia.
