SHE LOVES ME Will Waft Into The Marriott Theatre This Spring

???????Set against the lavish backdrop of a 1930s Hungarian perfume shop, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy gem, SHE LOVES ME, continues The Marriott Theatre's 2017 Season, running April 26 through June 18, 2017 with a press opening on Wednesday, May 3 at 8 p.m. at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire.

Porchlight Music Theatre's ICONS Gala to Honor E. Faye Butler

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the 2016 ICONS Gala celebrating the legendary woman whose name is synonymous with Broadway, Ethel Merman, Sunday, May 1, 2016 11:00 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Grand Ballroom, InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, 505 N. Michigan Ave. The Gala includes performances from Chicago's leading talents celebrating the rich career of Merman, the presentation of the 2016 Guy Adkins Award for Excellence in the Advancement of Music Theatre in Chicago to E. Faye Butler and silent and live auctions. Proceeds from the event and its accompanying auction benefit Porchlight's educational programs and productions. Tickets are on sale now and require advance purchase, $125 before April 15, $150 after April 15, $50 for children ages 18 years old and younger are available at 773.777.9884 or at PorchlightMusicTheatre.org.

CHF Announces FOUR WOMEN Cast

The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) presents Four Women: Josephine, Eartha, Nina, and Tina, this year's William and Greta Wiley Flory Concert, an annual cabaret performance, Monday, Nov. 2 as part of the 26th Fall Festival: Citizens, Oct. 24-Nov. 8.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the 2015 ICONS Gala will celebrate the legendary career of Elaine Stritch, Sunday, April 12, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Grand Ballroom, InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, 505 N. Michigan Ave. The Gala will include performances from Chicago's leading divas in a tribute to one of Broadway's leading divas, Ms. Stritch, the presentation of the 2015 Guy Adkins Award for Excellence in the Advancement of Music Theatre in Chicago to director and teacher Dominic Missimi, and silent and live auctions. The fundraising gala will kick off Porchlight's 21st Anniversary of creating 'American Musicals. Chicago Style.' Proceeds from the event and its accompanying auction benefit Porchlight's educational programs and productions.

Mercury Theater Chicago & The Hypocrites Will Celebrate Sondheim's Birthday with Weeklong Celebration, 3/16-22

Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N Southport Ave., will celebrate Stephen Sondheim's birthday at The Hypocrites' production INTO THE WOODS with a weeklong celebration beginning on Sunday, March 16 with a panel discussion following the 3 p.m. performance with Andra Velis Simon from Columbia College Chicago and Director Geoff Button, and a second panel discussion on Saturday, March 22 following the 2 p.m. performance with Kris Vire, Associate Editor at Time Out Chicago and Executive Director L. Walter Stearns. The matinee performance on March 22, Stephen Sondheim's actual birthday, will also feature a classic Sondheim sing-a-long immediately following the panel discussion with selections from Merrily We Roll Along, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George and Roadshow. A delicious birthday cake from gourmet Southport bakery Sensational Bites A Dessert Cafe will be served following the sing-a-long on March 22. Directed by Geoff Button* with Musical Direction by Matt Deitchman, INTO THE WOODS has been extended through Saturday, April 5.

THE DAVID DANCE, a feature film directed by Aprill Winney, will have its world premiere at CINEQUEST Film Festival in downtown San Jose, California March 8, 9th and 11th at Camera Twelve Cinemas. THE DAVID DANCE is an inspiring drama, spiked with humor, about family and self-acceptance. From actor / writer Don Scime, the film also stars Tonye Patano (Weeds), Jordan Baker (Another Earth), Antoinette LaVecchia (Delirious) and Guy Adkins. The opening screening will be held on Saturday March 8th at 1:45pmand will continue March 9th and 11th at 2pm. Camera Twelve Cinemas is located at 201 South 2nd St in San Jose, California.
