Gregory Boyd, Artistic Director of the Alley Theatre, announces the cast and creative team of the Hubbard Theatre season opener, William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.   The Alley's 22nd Shakespearean production celebrates the new stage enhancements with an expansive set, live music and 43 detailed costumes outfitting a full 19-member cast. The production features members of the Resident Acting Company and begins October 7 and runs through November 5. This month, the Alley Theatre hosts Shakespeare@400, a variety of educational and patron-engaging events, centered around the Alley's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream beginning previews October 7, and opening October 12.

The Alley Theatre and the theater community mourn the loss of visionary playwright Edward Albee, who passed away at the age of 88 on Friday, September 16. The Alley Theatre will honor the theatre tradition of dimming the theatre lights prior to the evening performances on Saturday, September 17 at 8:00 p.m.

Lott Entertainment Presents' second season begins with a new home and a slew of new works guaranteed to raise the bar-and some eyebrows-in Houston's performing arts scene. Founders Kathryn Lott and Allison Lott have formed a unique alliance with the Alley Theatre, which allows them to present their entire second season in the Alley's Neuhaus Theatre.

Alley All New continues its offerings with an additional reading - Martin Zimmerman's On The Exhale. The special reading event marks the official launch of the Alley All New Reading Series, an ongoing series featuring new work in various stages of the development process. The reading, directed by Alley's Associate Director James Black, is on Monday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Texas Room at the Alley Theatre. As a part of Alley All New, the Alley Theatre announces two workshop presentations of the new musical in progress Lover, Beloved: An Evening with Carson McCullers tonight, August 23 (7:30 p.m.), and August 26 (8:00 p.m.) in the Texas Room.

TV and West End star Wendi Peters, much loved for her acclaimed portrayal of Cilla Battersby-Brown in Coronation Street, will headline the upcoming 2017 UK tour of Wonderland as Queen of Hearts alongside musical theatre favourite Dave Willetts, who has previously starred in tours of South Pacific, 42nd Street and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, as White Rabbit.

Wonderland is an enchanting musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alices Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, with a huge heart, a medley of magic and a whole lot of wonder.
