Frank Wildhorn's new musical, WONDERLAND: Alice's New Musical Adventure is set to debut in Tampa late this year. WONDERLAND begins performances on November 24, 2009 at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

As the first initiative of the Broadway Genesis Project at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, TBPAC will produce a new Frank Wildhorn musical, to debut in Tampa late this year. The new show, WONDERLAND: Alice's New Musical Adventure will begin performances on November 24, 2009 at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

Ford's Theater Announces Grand Reopening For February 2009

Wayne R. Reynolds, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Ford's Theatre Society, Paul R. Tetreault, Director of Ford's Theatre Society, and Kym Elder, Superintendent of Ford's Theatre National Historic Site, announced today that Ford's Theatre will reopen in February 2009 after an 18-month renovation. Ford's Theatre will celebrate with one week of public and private events honoring Abraham Lincoln's life and legacy. The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Campaign, a $50 million capital campaign to support the renovation of Ford's Theatre and its museum as well as the building of the new Center for Education and Leadership, has raised $43 million to date.

The Alley Theater Holds Open Auditions For Boys Ages 7-12

The Alley Theatre is holding auditions for boys with unchanged voices between the ages of seven and twelve to be considered for singing roles in the Alley Theatre's upcoming production of The Man Who Came to Dinner. Those wishing to audition must be available for rehearsals and performances beginning February 10 through March 22, 2009. Boys must be age twelve or younger; and may not be members of AEA, SAG or AFTRA.

On the day Eurydice is to marry her true love Orpheus, a misstep sends her to the surreal depths of the Underworld, where she has a surprising reunion and ultimately must decide whether to follow Orpheus back to the land of the living. The 2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Judith Thompson for her critically acclaimed play Palace of the End, marking the first time a Canadian writer has received the prestigious playwriting award's highest honor. Thompson received $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning at a special 30th Anniversary ceremony on Monday, March 10th at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas where Ms. Blackburn first became involved in theatre.
