The Music of Frank Wildhorn Plays Joe's Pub this September

The work of the popular and prolific composer will come to Joe's Pub in September as The Music of Frank Wildhorn plays three consecutive Mondays on September 5th 7pm, September 12th at 7pm and September 19th at 7pm and 9:30pm.

Rob Evan (Jekyll and Hyde, Dance of the Vampires), Kate Shindle (Jekyll and Hyde, Cabaret), Michael Lanning (The Civil War), Tracy Miller (Hairspray, Dracula, the Musical) are lined up to perform Wildhorn's music, with Darren Ritchie (Dracula, the Musical) and Brandi Burkhardt (featured in Standing Ovations 3) expected on hand as well.

The evening will feature songs from Wildhorn's varied career as a pop and theatre composer.
In 1999, Wildhorn became the first American composer in twenty-two years to have three shows running simultaneously on Broadway: Jekyll Hyde (written with Leslie Bricusse), which received two Tony nominations; The Scarlet Pimpernel (written with Nan Knighton), which received four Tony nominations; and The Civil War (written with Jack Murphy Gregory Boyd), which received two Tony nominations. He was most recently represented on Broadway by Dracula, the Musical, while new shows that have yet to reach Broadway include Cyrano, Vienna, Waiting For The Moon (a show about the marriage of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald which runs July 16-31, 2005 at the Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center in Marlton, NJ, just outside Philadelphia) and Havana.

As a composer of popular music, Wildhorn's songs have been performed by
Natalie Cole, Kenny Rogers, Sammy Davis Jr., Liza Minnelli, Julie Andrews, Freddie Jackson, Deana Carter, Patti LaBelle, Amy Grant, Ben Vereen, Regina Belle, The Moody Blues, Jeffrey Osborne, Stacy Lattisaw, Dennis DeYoung, Molly Hatchet, Brenda Russell, John Raitt, Johnny Mathis, and Colm Wilkinson. His "Where Do Broken Hearts Go?" was a #1 hit for Whitney Houston, and he has also penned many songs for Linda Eder's various CDs.
