Members of the cast and creative team of NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 and author Steven Suskin celebrated the release of the book The Great Comet: The Journey of a New Musical to Broadway at Barnes & Noble and BroadwayWorld was there to capture the event!

From a 14-year-old up and comer to a DANCING WITH THE STARS' mirrorball champion, 2016 has been a year filled with noteworthy debuts on the Great White Way. Below, BWW looks back on the talented actors who were profiled in this year's 'Debut of the Month' column.

Dave Malloy, creator of the "intoxicatingly good, rapturous" (Isherwood, NY Times) new musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, will make his Broadway performing debut in the show this spring, stepping into the role of 'Pierre' for 10 performances across May and June 2017.

The producers have announced Golnesa "G.G." Gharachedaghi, star of "Shahs of Sunset," will make her stage debut in New York's longest running comedy Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man for a limited two-week engagement this December.

Featuring the Broadway debuts of 24 cast and creative team members, including Josh Groban as 'Pierre' and Denee Benton as 'Natasha,' the new musical is created by Dave Malloy (Ghost Quartet, Preludes) and directed by Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown, Artistic Director of The TEAM), also making their Broadway debuts. Lincoln Center's acclaimed American Songbook series returns for its 18th season of celebrating the best in American singing and songwriting. During February and March 2016, established and rising singers and singer-songwriters across a range of genres-Southern soul, bluegrass, folk, R&B, indie rock, pop, musical theater, and more-will take The Appel Room stage for concerts that explore the many iterations of American song.
