The Kennedy Center, in association with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, the National New Play Network (NNPN)-the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays-and with Stanford University's National Center for New Plays, will host more than 50 playwrights, directors, and dramaturgs from July 25 to August 2, 2015 as part of the 10th annual weeklong MFA Playwrights' Workshop featuring new works by MFA students from Columbia University, Northwestern University, Fordham University, Yale School of Drama, the Juilliard School, New York University-Tisch School of the Arts, University of California-San Diego, and the Juilliard School.

Flat Rock Playhouse presents the classic holiday film live on stage, A Christmas Story, from now through December 22 at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. A Christmas Story is written by Philip Grecian and based on the motion picture A Christmas Story and on the book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Bob Clark. Flat Rock Playhouse presents the classic holiday film live on stage, A Christmas Story, from December 4 - 22 at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. A Christmas Story is written by Philip Grecian and based on the motion picture A Christmas Story and on the book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Bob Clark.

While on the surface this looks like a political drama when you pull back the layers this show is full of intersecting family ties and wonderful interpersonal intrigue.

Curious Theatre Company presents Amy Herzog's After the Revolution, directed by Producing Artistic Director, Chip Walton. The production runs September 5 - October 19, 2013 at 1080 Acoma Street, Denver. The opening night is September 7, 2013, at 8 p.m.

Tonight, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. actors from The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT) will present the highly atmospheric The Third Man in much the same way as it was presented in 1949 during the golden age of radio. Utilizing specially designed props and some unusual devices for sound effects, the performers will reenact the mystery surrounding the murder of Harry Lime, a man who was not what he appeared to be. Audience participation is part of the fun.

Saturday evening, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. actors from The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT) will present the highly atmospheric The Third Man in much the same way as it was presented in 1949 during the golden age of radio. City Theatre will begin the lead-up to the CityWrights Playwriting Conference in June, with a special Winter CityWrights free program on January 8-10, 2013, offering three readings of award-winning playwright Leslie Ayvazian's new full-length comedy Out of the City. The readings will give theatre-lovers a sneak peak prior to the World Premiere this summer at New York's respected Bay Street Theatre.

Kicking off their 2011-2012 Season, Caldwell Theatre Company presents Amy Herzog's widely acclaimed family drama After The Revolution. The play was named one of the Top Ten plays of the New York Times plays of 2010 and was recently included in the prestigious yearbook, Best Plays of 2010-2011 which sites the top plays of the past New York theater season.

Award-winning Mosaic Theatre continues its tradition of staging thought-provoking dramatic work with the Southeast U.S. Premiere of 'Ages of the Moon' by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard. This production marks the fifth and final show of Mosaic Theatre's celebrated Tenth Anniversary Season and features multiple Carbonell Award winners Dennis Creaghan and Gordon McConnell.

Florida Repertory Theatre announced that its nationally celebrated production of Sylvia, recently praised by The Wall Street Journal, will be performed at Sanibel Island's BIG ARTS this Thursday, Feb. 3, at 8pm. During its January run, acclaimed drama critic and best-selling author, Terry Teachout, called the production 'both clever and cute in all the right ways.'

Written by A.R. Gurney, author of Love Letters, A Cocktail Hour and Florida Rep hits, The Middle Ages and Indian Blood, Sylvia follows Greg and Kate, two recent empty-nesters, through a mid-life crisis of sorts. After years of blissful suburban life, they move to Manhattan as Kate's career picks up and Greg's winds down. Things get interesting when Greg brings home a frisky young blonde named Sylvia. She quickly becomes the object of his misplaced affection, and a definite 'bone' of contention between Greg and his wife.

After the universal acclaim that accompanied Caldwell Theatre's 2009 Summer season, (Vices: A Love Story, The Whipping Man) Artistic Director Clive Cholerton, has chosen again to counter program against traditional summer fare, and will produce a World premiere in Joel Gross's highly emotional romantic drama, The Comfort of Darkness, preceded by the Southeastern premiere of Bob Clyman's successful comedic thriller, Secret Order.
