Curious Theatre Company to Kick Off 2013-14 Season with AFTER THE REVOLUTION Tonight

By:

Curious Theatre Company presents Amy Herzog's After the Revolution, directed by Producing Artistic Director, Chip Walton. The production runs September 5 - October 19, 2013 at 1080 Acoma Street, Denver. The opening night is September 7, 2013, at 8 p.m.

The passionate, brilliant Emma Joseph proudly carries the torch of her family's long-held Marxist ideals by devoting her life to the memory of her legendary blacklisted grandfather. When a stunning revelation uncovers a dark secret, her entire family must reconcile everything they stood for with the shadowy truth of history.

"After the Revolution continues our tradition of bringing you theatre that you won't see anywhere else in Colorado, and introduces the Rocky Mountains to the incredible work of playwright Amy Herzog, who is one of the most prolific and talented writers in American theatre today," says Producing Artistic Director Chip Walton. "This is a play that will make you think harder - about our country, our history and our politics, and also make you feel more - about those whom we love the most, and how legacies both haunt and inspire our family trees."

The cast includes Artistic Company Members Dee Covington, Jim Hunt and Jessica Robblee, with Lauren Bahlman, Matthew Block, Mark Collins, Gordon McConnell* and Anne Oberbroeckling*.

The creative team includes Artistic Company Members Markas Henry** and Shannon McKinney as well as Ann Piano, Brian Freeland, and Kristin Hamer.

Performances are September 5 - October 19, 2013. The opening performance is on September 7, 2013 at 8 p.m. Curtain times are Thursday - Saturday at 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 - $44 and are available at the Box Office, 1080 Acoma Street, Denver; 303.623.0524 or online at curioustheatre.org.
