The Directors Company to produce staged reading presentations of Cheer Wars , book & lyrics by Gordon Leary, music by Karlan Judd. Winner of the Richard Rodgers Award for Staged Readings administered by the American Academy of Arts and Letters

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2010 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Twelve of the Festival's full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) will present NEO6, a benefit concert celebrating New, Emerging, Outstanding musical theatre writers, this Monday, May 10 at its home in Saint Peter's Theatre. Following the 7:30 PM performance (featuring the voices of many of today's top musical theatre talent), there will be a champagne and dessert reception to end the evening.

A Little New Music, a new concert, will debut Tuesday, December 8 at 9:30pm at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The concert, directed by Eve Rybnick and featuring musical direction by Zak Sandler, stars Natalie Bradshaw, Steven Booth, Jaclyn Huberman, Felicia Ricci, James Sasser, Justin Sayre, and Nick Spangler. The New York Musical Theatre Festival announces the six Next Broadway Sensation semi-finalists for their third annual contest, formerly known as Broadway Idol. Moving on to round two will be Frances Bordlee, Shawna M. Hamic, Mike Harrison, Omar Lopez-Cepero, Jennifer Sánchez, Nesha Ward, and Jamaal Wilson.
