On Friday, April 17th, The Spotlight Cabaret will present the music of composer Eric Day at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

The Eric Day Cabaret - new songs and stuff, will feature performances by Day and his wife Lori Brooke Cohan, with Cathryn Basile, Jeremy Leiner, Tara Siesener, and Paul Wyatt

The evening begins at 8pm and is directed by Joshua Brody with music direction by Lori Brooke Cohan.

The concert features lyrics by Rob Broadhurst, Eric Day, Jess Digiacinto, Rachel Jett, Gordon Leary, Ryan Scott Oliver and Niko Tsakalakos. 

Songs by Eric Day have been previously heard at Joe’s Pub, the Zipper, the Laurie Beechman, the D-Lounge, and Barrington Stages..  He wrote the music for Hameko and Lulu, a contemporary rock musical set in Tokyo (book/lyrics by Rachel Jett), which received a reading at Playwrights Horizons in March.

The concert will premiere songs from the new Day musical, The Earth Beneath My Feet.

The Spotlight Cabaret is produced by Ryan Scott Oliver and Rob Shapiro.  The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located inside the West Bank Café, 407 W. 42nd Street at 9th Ave.  Reservations strongly urged; email your request to thespotlightcabaret@yahoo.com or call (212) 695-6909.  There is a $10 cover charge and a $15 food/drink minimum.
