On Tuesday January 13, 2009 at 7PM, The Spotlight Cabaret presents State of the Union, a celebration of our nation and its foibles featuring a variety of original songs with titles like "Alaska," "I Love You Rachel Maddow," "Black Friday" and "Goodbye George Bush."

The concert will feature songs by Fred Ebb Award-winner Adam Gwon ("Ordinary Days"), Nick Blaemire (Broadway's "Glory Days"), Drama Desk nominee Paul Leschen ("Bedbugs" @ NYMF), Dan Collins ("Wood" @ NYMF), Eric Day ("Hameko & Lulu"), singer-songwriter Tina Lear, Gordon Leary ("Cheer Wars" @ NYU), Julia Meinwald (Prospect Theatre's "The Four"), Gregory Jacobs Roseman, Rob Shapiro and more. Performers include: Brittney Borgstedt, Liz Carbonell, Auri Marcus (NYMF's Broadway Idol Finalist), Jordan Price, David Sharrocks, Sarah Statler. The evening is directed by Daniel Fischer, with music direction by Christopher Brian Chung.

The Spotlight Cabaret is produced by Ryan Scott Oliver and Rob Shapiro. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located inside the West Bank Café, 407 W. 42nd Street at 9th Ave. Reservations strongly urged; email your request to thespotlightcabaret@yahoo.com or call (212) 695-6909.
