The New Ohio Theatre presents an industry reading of the new play Schooled, written by Lisa Lewis and directed by Oliver Butler, starring Michael Cerveris, Phoebe Strole, James Kautz and Mara Davi, with dramaturgy by Matthew Schneider. The reading will take place on Tuesday, November 15 at 8pm at the New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street, between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City.
Lark Play Dev Center Announces U.S./México Playwright Exchange Program

The Lark Play Development Center in collaboration with Mexico's National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) is pleased to announce the 2011 U.S./México Playwright Exchange Program. For the sixth year the Lark will host playwrights from México and pair them with U.S. playwrights, actors, and directors for a ten day cultural exploration which establishes ongoing channels of communication between artists in both countries. This year's partners include Borderlands Theater (Arizona), Repertorio Español (New York), and the Mexican Cultural Institute.
Laguna Playhouse Names Michael Barker Associate Managing Director

The Laguna Playhouse has named Michael Barker as Associate Managing Director, a recent addition to the leadership team of the venerable institution. Mr. Barker joined the playhouse staff in July after serving as Managing Director for The Antaeus Company in North Hollywood. He holds an MFA in theater management from Yale School of Drama and an MBA from Yale School of Management.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the second round of 2011 Edgerton Foundation New American Play awards granted to TCG member theaters across the U.S. The awards, totaling $762,000, allow 22 theaters extra time in the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, helping to extend the life of the play after its first run.
