Now celebrating its 35th year, the annual Museum Mile Festival (www.museummilefestival.org) takes place rain or shine on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Over 1.5 million people have taken part in this annual celebration since its inception. Festival attendees can walk the Mile between 82nd Street and 105th Street while visiting nine of New York City's finest cultural institutions, which are open free to the public throughout the evening. Visitors can also walk to 110th Street where they will be greeted by music and outdoor art activities at the site of Museum Mile's newest museum, the Museum for African Art. Several other participating museums will also offer outdoor art activities for children.

Conductor Christoph König makes his BSO debut leading Beethoven's Seventh on Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore. Beethoven's magnificent Symphony No. 7, bursting with energy and pulsing with rhythm, is a performance not to be missed. Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues the 2012-13 season of its Composer Portraits series with: REBECCA SAUNDERS, featuring Either/Or with Richard Carrick, conductor. Miller favorites Either/Or perform a full program of U.S. premieres by the British-born, Berlin-based composer. Due to Hurricane Sandy, the last day of performances for Henning Rübsam's SENSEDANCE were canceled. The new re-scheduled performances are this coming Sunday, January 20th, at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance, 126 East 13th Street, NYC.. The company will present two premieres celebrating Henning's 21st year as founding artistic director of his ensemble. The premieres will include, 'obsession | calm' and 'Brahms Dances'. Also on the program will be a reprise of 'Petit Pas' as a tribute to the late Neil Armstrong, whose voice is featured in the work; and 'HALF-LIFE 102'.
