BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL Opens Today at The Wild Project

With highlights including the world premiere of Greek playwright Yiannis Mavritsakis' 'Redshift,' the multimedia/ music production 'Suite Camus' collaborated on by artists from France, Germany and Algeria, the North American premiere of 'Eyes' by Israeli based The Arab-Hebrew Theater Center, Portuguese choreographer's Pedro Goucha Gomes' 'Amongst Millions' - a new dance that tackles the current European crisis and many more - the BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL, an annual celebration of contemporary performing arts from the Mediterranean, opens today, July 22nd, and runs through July 28th at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street, New York, NY.) This year marks the third year for the BETWEEN THE SEAS FESTIVAL.

Women's Portrait Photographer Angie Capri, Announces the Second Event of Women's Empowerment Workshop Series, 8/15

Known Bay Area Women's Portrait Photographer Angie Capri announces the second event in the series of her Women's Empowerment Workshops, Capture Your Inner Radiance. The second event, called 'Designing Your Empowered Body' will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:45 pm in her studio which is located in Concord, CA. During the workshop, Capri will lead the group of women through a creative and empowering whole body design process which will be similar to vision boarding, but with a sexy and empowering twist. Attendees will design a very special and personalized keepsake, representing what sexy means to them, for use as daily inspiration to become more confident, comfortable, and sexy from within. The focus at this workshop is to improve and empower women's ideas surrounding their bodies. The workshop will also feature an opportunity to network with like-minded women, and a raffle drawing.

Music Box Theatre to Host CHICAGO FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL, Begin. 7/26

The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport, showcases the best of contemporary French cinema in the expanded third annual Chicago French Film Festival. With an entire week dedicated to the festival this year, Music Box seizes the opportunity to program more titles and additional screenings of the very best in contemporary French film and some newly restored classics.

Jennifer Fouche, Angela Grovey & More Set for MADAME WALKER AND THE DIVINE DREAM at NYMF, 7/10 & 13

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presents Madam Walker and the Divine Dream. Performances will take place on July 10th at 3:00PM & 7:00PM and July 13th at 8:00PM at The Studio at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street). Starring Jennifer Fouche* (Off-Broadway's Sistas), Angela Grovey* (Broadway's Leap of Faith), two time Audelco Award Winner Juson Williams*, Kenya Lee*, Cheryl Gadsden, Annie Lee Moffett*, Carrie Compere* (Broadway bound Holler If You Hear Me, National tourShrek the Musical), Audelco nominated chandra thomas*, and Michael Roberts* (National and International tour West Side Story, Dreamgirls) . The book and lyrics are written by Steve Mackes and music by Joseph-Vernon Banks. Kevin Ray serves as music director and Bayo is stage manager.

BWW Reviews: The Firm's CONCERT 1, SCHUBERT Delights Adelaide Audience

In his short 32 years Schubert composed an enormous amount of music, including over 600 lieder (songs), nine symphonies, including his famous Symphony No. 8 in B minor, the Unfinished Symphony. This concert was performed by soprano Emma Horwood, male alto Matthew Rutty, tenor Martin Penhale, and bass Timothy Marks, accompanied by Jamie Cock on piano, who also played two solo works during the evening.

Mr. Schimmelpfennig will discuss his award-winning play THE GOLDEN DRAGON, his larger body of work, and trends in German theatre today, May 12 @ 4:15pm -- immediately following the 3pm matinee performance of THE GOLDEN GRAGON at The New Ohio Theatre, 154 Christopher Street. Kathleen Turner to Appear with New York Choral Society at Carnegie Hall, Today

The New York Choral Society (NYCS) announced today that award-winning stage and screen star Kathleen Turner will introduce Ralph Vaughan Williams's A Sea Symphony at Carnegie Hall on April 25 with a reading of the moving and evocative text written by the American poet Walt Whitman.

Columbia University's Miller Theatre Continues 'Composer Portraits' Series with Rebecca Saunders Tonight

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues the 2012-13 season of its Composer Portraits series with: REBECCA SAUNDERS, featuring Either/Or with Richard Carrick, conductor. Miller favorites Either/Or perform a full program of U.S. premieres by the British-born, Berlin-based composer. The concert will include an onstage discussion with Rebecca Saunders and Richard Carrick. It will all take place tonight, April 4, 2013.
