Lark Play Development Center Partners with Mexican Cultural Institute for 7th Annual U.S./Mexico Playwright Exchange

The Lark Play Development Center in collaboration with Mexico's National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) has announced the 2012 U.S./Mexico Playwright Exchange Program. For the seventh year, the Lark will host playwrights from Mexico and pair them with U.S. playwrights, actors, and directors for a ten day cultural exploration which establishes ongoing channels of communication between artists in both countries. This year's exchange is presented in partnership with Mexican Cultural Institute.

La MaMa Sets European Young Directors' Forum Workshops and Panels, 12/3 & 4

Today, December 3 and the 4th, La MaMa will hold a two-day series of conversations, workshops and panels to accompany the two productions of its European Young Directors' Forum. Participants will include European directors Bojan Djordjev (Serbia/Croatia), Paul Knieriem (The Netherlands), Bastian Kraft (Germany), Ana Tomovic (Serbia) and U.S. based directors Anne Bogart, Meiyin Wang, John Jesurun and Charlotte Braithwaite.

Israeli Stage's ULYSSES ON BOTTLES/Birthday Celebration

Israeli Stage and Producing Artistic Director Guy Ben-Aharon celebrated the company's second birthday on Sunday, November 18, with a staged reading of Gilad Evron's powerful ULYSSES ON BOTTLES at Goethe-Institut in Boston.

TheatreWorks Presents DANCE FOR NOTHING at 72-13, Nov. 23 & 24

TheatreWorks and Goethe-Institut will present Eszter Salamon performing at 72-13 on 23 and 24 November. In Dance for Nothing, Salamon will be performing choreography to John Cage's music, Lecture on Nothing (1949), followed by a discussion.

Carla Kihlstedt Hosts and Curates NYFOS NEXT Tonight, 11/13

Tonight, November 13 at 7:00pm, New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) opens a new season of its contemporary music mini-series NYFOS Next with CARLA KIHLSTEDT & FRIENDS at Mary Flagler Cary Hall in the DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

The San Francisco Early Music Society Presents Musica Pacifica, 11/30-12/2

The San Francisco Early Music Society announces its annual Christmas concert performed by the Bay Area's Musica Pacifica. The distinguished chamber ensemble offers a festive tour of Christmas music from 18th-century England, France, Germany, and Italy. Special guests Clara Rottsolk, soprano, and Washington McClain, oboe, join the core group of Judith Linsenberg, recorder, Elizabeth Blumenstock, violin, Charles Sherman, harpsichord, and Josh Lee, cello and gamba. Their program will include traditional English carols, French noëls from Corrette and Charpentier, H.I.F. Biber's 'Nativity' Sonata from his famous set of 15 Mystery (or Rosary) Sonatas, Antonio Vivaldi's vivacious chamber concerto La Pastorella, and sacred sonatas and arias from Handel, Telemann, and Bach.
