AMC announced today that 'Breaking Bad,' the Emmy(R) Award-winning and critically lauded drama series from acclaimed writer/producer/director Vince Gilligan has been renewed for a 16 episode order that will conclude the series. Production on all episodes of the final order will commence in early 2012.

AMC announced today, from the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, CA, that the cast and crew of AMC's Emmy(R) Award-winning and highly acclaimed original drama series 'Breaking Bad' returns to Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, January 13 to begin production on season four. From acclaimed writer/producer/director Vince Gilligan, the series follows the story of a desperate man who turns to a life of crime to secure his family's financial security. Season four consists of 13, one-hour episodes and is set to debut on AMC in summer 2011.

In a surprising revelation, his long estranged father, a former cop, offers him a piece of crucial information. Meanwhile, Fitch, Washington, Stone and Sanchez investigate the brutal murder in Mexicantown of a young Latina, an undocumented immigrant who had few places to turn when she became pregnant, on 'Detroit 1-8-7,' TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
