Monday night marked the 300th performnce for the national tour of HAIR, now performing at Broadways St James Theatre. The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR kicked of its first national tour at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on October 28, 2010 (following a preview engagement in New Haven, CT) and played 20 cities around the country before heading back to Broadway for a limited 'Summer of Love' run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Following this Broadway engagement, which ends on Saturday, September 10, the cast heads back out on tour. For a full list of touring cities, visit www.HairOnTour.com. New York's Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director) and Joey Parnes have announced that HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will once again rock Broadway this evening, following a one-day shuttering this past Saturday due to Hurricane Irene. Tonight's 7:00 PM performance will also mark the national tour's 300th performance. New York's Public Theater has announced that the final performances of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical on Broadway will all offer special deals and programs for students, Aquarians, foreigners, HAIR fans and more, kicking off on Thursday, August 25th with a foursquare Swarm-In in Times Square, at which fans are encouraged to join the Tribe for a Be-In Performance in Times Square, where they can unlock a special discount if enough people check in via the social networking site foursquare. The show ends its 'Summer of Love' run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street) on Saturday, September 10th before heading back out on its national tour.

HAIR: Then and Now will play on Thirteen Friday, August 19th at 1:00 AM. A celebration of Hair, the 'tribal love-rock musical' now a Tony Award-winning revival back on Broadway for the summer. Our guests include the show's composer Galt MacDermot and co-lyricist/librettist James Rado, who wrote the show's enduring rock score (with the late Gerome Ragni). Also on the program, actor Gavin Creel, who was nominated for a Tony for his portrayal of Claude, the role originally created in the Sixties by Rado. Creel, Rado and MacDermot perform the first act finale song 'Where Do I Go?' with MacDermot's son, Vince, on the bongos.
