The second installment of 'Jersey Moves' Festival of Dance was met with enthusiasm by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center audience.

On Friday, May 31, 2013 at 5:15pm, American Repertory Ballet will host a free lecture, 'Dancer Nutrition', as part of its On Pointe Enrichment Series. Artists of American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School will discuss how dancers and non-dancers alike should eat for peak daily performance.

Thodos Dance Chicago will celebrate 13 years of dance creation with its annual New Dances performance series, July 19-21, 2013 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street, Chicago. Performances are Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, July 21 at 5 pm. Tickets are $35; $28 for students and seniors; $20 industry (dancers and teachers); $10 for children 12 and under and for groups of 10 or more. American Repertory Ballet will perform in New Jersey Performing Arts Center's second annual Jersey Moves! Festival of Dance. The performance will be tonight, April 27, 2013 at 7:30pm at NJPAC's Victoria Theater. ARB will be performing Gerald Arpino's Viva Vivaldi. This charming, virtuosic work in the classical ballet vocabulary will share the stage with Irish dance presented by Timothy Kochka and The Davis Academy, Indian dance by Bani Ray and her dancers, tap by New Jersey Tap Ensemble, and contemporary dance by Dance Tactics and Nimbus Dance Works.

Devon Carney, Associate Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Ballet, and Yves de Bouteiller, former principal dancer of the Milwaukee Ballet and Ballet du Nord, will be on the faculty for the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet's Summer Intensive from July 22-26, 2013 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Maria Youskevitch, longtime faculty member at Princeton Ballet School, is one of this year's American Repertory Ballet Gala Honorees, and is the recipient of this year's Audree Estey Award for Excellence in Dance Education. Daughter of one of the leading dancers of the 20th century, Igor Youskevitch, Ms. Youskevitch brings a strong background in and deep knowledge of ballet to her students. She teaches for a variety of levels and, every year, re-stages a full-length classical ballet on Princeton Ballet School students for the School's Spring Production. She has also served as Rehearsal Director for American Repertory Ballet, the professional company associated with Princeton Ballet School, on several occasions.

On April 26, 2013, American Repertory Ballet will present "All About Pointe Shoes," an On Pointe Enrichment Series event. This lecture-demonstration will cover the ins and outs of pointe shoes from brand and material choices to fitting and personal customization tricks from ARB's ballerinas. "All About Pointe Shoes" will be held at 5:15 PM in the Princeton Studio, at 301 North Harrison Street, Princeton, NJ in the Princeton Shopping Center, above McCaffrey's Supermarket.

American Repertory Ballet will make its debut at South Orange Performing Arts Center on April 5, 2013 at 8:00pm with its Viva Spring program. The evening will feature ARB Artistic Director Douglas Martin's brand new Rite of Spring, famed Joffrey Ballet choreographer Gerald Arpino's Viva Vivaldi, and contemporary dance choreographer Patrick Corbin's new work, Caress. These works span classical and contemporary movement and music, presenting a range of styles to appeal to a variety of tastes.

Tonight, March 7, 2013 at 7:30pm, ARB Artistic Director Douglas Martin will discuss his new Romeo and Juliet and Rite of Spring ballets, both of which ARB will unveil this spring. Also at this event, the virtuosic dancers of ARB will perform excerpts of both these ballets, giving audiences exclusive previews of these world premieres.

Award winning choreographers Ann Reinking and Melissa Thodos are teaming again to co-choreograph A Light in the Dark, the story of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan, their second full-length contemporary story ballet, this time telling an intimate family story about the extraordinary woman who was deaf and blind yet went on to become a world-famous writer, political activist and inspiration to all.

Muhlenberg College will showcase world premiere dance works created by five of the region's most accomplished choreographers and two restagings by internationally acclaimed choreographers, in the College's annual 'Master Choreographers' dance concert, tonight, Feb. 7-9.
