In one of the most electrifying and highly anticipated awards shows, some 400 attendees came out in full force to salute exemplary individuals who are working towards the advancement of Africans in the Diaspora and in Africa at the 4th Annual AFRICAN DIASPORA AWARDS, held on Nov. 15 at Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College in New York City.

Applause Africa, a multimedia platform that aims to celebrate, empower and connect the people, culture and visions of Africans in the Diaspora, announced today the 2014 Honorees for the AFRICAN DIASPORA AWARDS. The 4th Annual ADA Awards will be held on November 15 at Lincoln Center's Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College. The Red Carpet and cocktail reception begin at 6:00PM, followed by the awards show at 7:00PM.

Afro-Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz' will release their first U.S. album Black Star Elephant today September 16th on Warner Bros. Records.

John Prendergast, Kean University's Human Rights Senior Fellow, will present a screening of The Good Lie on October 8 at 7:15 p.m. in the state-of-the-art STEM Auditorium, located in Kean's STEM Building. The premiere will be attended by Mr. Prendergast, an internationally acclaimed human rights activist, who appears in the film and has a longstanding relationship with the University.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a trailer for director Philippe Falardeau's THE GOOD LIE. The drama, starring Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon, hits theaters on October 3rd.
