Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, presents the world premiere of Dancing Lessons, the new romantic comedy by playwright and BSC Associate Artist Mark St. Germain from August 7 - 24. After a rigorous nation-wide and international search, Georgie Meagher has been appointed Next Wave's incoming Artistic Director and co-CEO. Commencing 7 September, 2014, Meagher will relocate to Melbourne from Sydney for the role and comes with a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion cultivated from her previous roles at Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Performance Space at Carriageworks and artist-run-initiative Firstdraft.

The Full Monty Musical, book by Terrence McNally, music and lyrics by David Yazbek, coming to Biddeford's City Theater today, July 11th-27th, tells the story of Jerry Lukowski, an unemployed steel worker, too proud to take entry-level work, who along with his best pal, Dave Bukatinski, sneaks into a Chippendales performance, to spy on Dave's wife, Georgie (Ashley Christie, Steep Falls), where they hatch a get-rich-quick scheme, which relies on their ability to outdo the Chippendales at their own game... with a little help from Keno, a discontented Chippendale dancer (Brandon O'Roak, S. Portland), Jeannette (Gretchen Wood, Shapleigh), a 'very-retired' music director, and, quite frankly, the last person they ever thought they would ask for help!

New Perspectives Theatre Company (NPTC) has announced on the margin, the 7th Annual Women's Work Short Play Festival with six original scripts developed to that theme. The festival runs from Monday, August 4th to Saturday, August 9th with performances of two Programs alternating 4:00pm and 8:00pm curtain times.. on the margin performs at NPTC Studio, 458 West 37th Street (at 10th Avenue.)

Michigan's longest running, non profit, professional theatre is proud to announce the 2014/2015 Season - a Season of World Premiere plays. The Detroit Repertory Theatre will kick off its 58th Season on November 6, 2014 with a Champagne Celebration and toast to the four new plays never before produced on a professional stage. Four stories: BUZZ by Richard Strand is a biting comedy about a CEO trying to outsmart his stock clerk; SWEET PEA'S MAMA by Robert Lawrence Nelson, a story about racial dignity centers around a maid and the developmentally challenged son of her employer on the eve of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s death; THE KISS OF THE SUN FOR PARDON by Lans Traverse is a life affirming tale of unusual friendship, a barefoot waif and a wheel-chair bound curmudgeon, and the explosive relationship that ensues; and finally, WHITE ASH FALLING 9/11 by Thom Molyneaux is a gripping story of three actors whose personal stories intertwine with the characters they play in a play about the tragedy of September 11th, 2001.
