The newest production in the American Experience Peabody Award-winning collection The Presidents, “W” features interviews with historians, journalists and several members of the president's inner circle, including chiefs of staff Andy Card and Josh Bolten, speechwriter David Frum, press secretary Ari Fleischer and others. Written, directed and produced by Barak Goodman and executive produced by Mark Samels, the film will premiere in the spring of 2020 on PBS. Goodman previously directed the highly-acclaimed Clinton, also part of The Presidents collection, and is the writer, producer and director of American Experience “Woodstock: Three Days that Defined a Generation,” premiering August 6, 2019 on PBS.

A prominent family from one of the most Italian towns in America received a national honor from the Sons of Italy Foundation. The Foundation is affiliated with the Order of Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, the largest and oldest Italian American organization in the United States. The Frank and Angela Donio Family has dedicated their lives to involvement in charitable and civic organizations, their efforts have made an indelible impact on the communities they serve. The members of the family who were honored are Frank G. Donio (Posthumously), Angela L. Donio, Fr. Frank S. Donio, S.A.C., John S. Donio and James M. Donio, who co-founded the Eagle Theatre.

When Lee Atwater passed away in 1991, he left behind a legacy that shaped the modern political landscape, and turned negative politics into the norm. Though he asked for forgiveness for his 'sins' on his deathbed (including attacks against politicians Tom Turnipseed, Gary Hart, and Michael Dukakis), the damage had been done. Premiering at the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival, 'Son of a Bitch' is a new play that grapples with Atwater's role in the 1988 Bush/Quayle Presidential campaign, and his legacy.
